  1. The rule is "host if earned", no pre-planned host sites, for SC and MS.
  2. Everyone remembers when Dave Hakstol got caught "gesturing" toward an official during a game. It was caught on live television. Well, in reality, he one-upped himself. But few noticed. Deep down inside I still believe the NCAA came after UND as hard as it did just as much for the moniker as for having Ralph Engelstad build such an amazing facility as he did for UND Hockey. (The zealots at the NCAA are human, and very jealous.) Well, Dave complied with the NCAA's "no logo, no moniker" edict, but he also got to give another message to the NCAA by his choice of headgear while at the West Regional. I'm thinking Dave Hakstol "flipped the bird" on television again, not to an official but to the entire NCAA this time, but this time very few recognized and understood his real message. Masterfully played, David. Masterfully played.
  3. shhhhh-dammit-SHHHHH!!!!!!!!
  4. Effectively, Dr. Kelley (all NDUS presidents) are "at will" employees of the SBoHE.
  5. Haven't seen that option on any forum.
  6. If Chicago could trade Kane and a second-pair defenseman for a top pair defenseman and a second-line scorer, I think they'd be wise to do it. They'd gain defense and lose some of Kane's off-ice antics and distractions. It be interesting to see what Chicago and Buffalo (Kane's hometown) could work out for mutual benefit.
  7. Yeah, but he drew iron on a decent shot when the game v. DET was 0-0 last night. Gotta bury 'em when you can.
  8. You apparently didn't see the slash in </moderator's hat on> or you don't understand HTML tags.
  9. Back in this thread someone took a (long angle) photo of the new black jersey. Can someone down in Tampa take a better photo of just the new UND jersey? I'll even offer to get it posted here if you send it to me via email: sicatoka at hotmail dot com <-- I typed that out so email troll-bots don't pick it up, use the @ and . if you send.
  10. <moderator's hat on> It's how the text editor on this site works. I've wondered the same but there's no way to prevent it. </moderator's hat on>
  11. Entzion. Park. Omaha. Dorn is sanctioned under NDSU Policy 163 (harassment), not Policy 162 (sexual harassment).
  12. You keep tossing out that canard. Do you really realize what it takes to start and run an AHL team? And as I've said, the NCAA only wants an official statement from Standing Rock tribal government. A state vote doesn't mean squat because non-tribal members also vote in Sioux County, ND.
  13. UND has been precluded from "taking care of it themselves" since December 2000. That's when the SBoHE took the issue. When the SBoHE tried to do something about it, Al Carlson precluded them. The milk is spilled. Quit trying to fix the blame. Fix the problem. So 'johnson', what's the solution?
  14. Maybe just CAS. He went apoplectic at the notion of the NCAA having power to expand the sanctions.
  15. They should've send the #7 jersey to hang there. (Some will get it.)
  16. What stops the NCAA Executive Committee from changing or expanding their policy to states?
  17. Ironic that an organization that sanctions members for lack of internal institutional control is trying, from the outside, to control a member institution.
  18. FAIL. The issue is one, one, Confederate flag that used to fly over the state capital but that now flies in a cemetary by a war memorial. That one flag got a state-wide sanction from the NCAA. (Link to dated article http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/14138981/ ) The SoCar flag is a palmetto, not the "stars and bars".
  19. Clarified your post.
  20. Former Governor Schafer can.
  21. Seems Lynn Dorn is getting a head start on summer vacation. "NDSU women's AD Dorn suspended, accused of violating harassment policy" -- she's being suspended for two weeks. http://www.inforum.com/event/article/id/356369/ The policy in question: http://www.ndsu.edu/fileadmin/policy/163.pdf
  22. The NCAA Executive Committee can adopt a new, expanded policy right now. The full membership voted them the power. They have the power. They have used it. They will use it again at some point. The NCAA Executive Committee could create an expanded policy like --> "If it's state law, we don't play NCAA tournament games in that state." Would they do it? Who knows. Maybe start asking in MS and SC.
  23. Yes, because of ... Look at all of the wonderful things they're doing for highways in western ND now. They'll do all that and more (less?) for the schools in the NDUS, and they'll use NDSU's past financial issues and DSU's "degree factory" issues as justifications. You (WYO) get that. And I get that. But some will be too blinded by a moniker to see what's really going on.
  24. Ya had to go and bring that up ...
  25. OK, here's the scenario: Minnesota, the prohibative underdog, plays the game of their lives and beats BC (the prohibative favorite to win it all). Meanwhile, in the other semi, the one being ignored, a pretty good team defeats another good, but not good enough team. Minnesota overlooks the other semi-finalist on Saturday. Union wins. (I stole the concept from 1997 where Michigan was supposed to win it all, but instead lost to BU and then UND knocks off BU after having defeated CC.)
