Siouxdonyms Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 Alright, we need a goal here in the last 2 minutes of the period to be a catalyst for us in the 3rd! LET'S GO SIOUX!!!!! Quote
UMDDogz Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 UMD's scoring woes continue...1-1 after 2 periods. UMD PP to start the third. Quote
Siouxdonyms Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 Genoway going off for a penalty. Not what we needed to end the 2nd or start the 3rd. Quote
dakotadan Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 Nothing like letting them score with 2 seconds left in the period. That is going to help the momentum. Quote
Siouxdonyms Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 Sioux need to get their a$$es reemed after this period of play. Come out and play with some flippin Sioux pride in the 3rd. Quote
OETKB Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 UND is not a championship team tonight. Weak looking performance. Weak. Quote
Siouxdonyms Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 Sioux showing some grit here, but it's only going to end up in penalties. Quote
OETKB Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 Getting their butts handed to them tonight. Embarrasing. And I don't say that very often. Quote
redwing77 Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 With the buzzer marks the end of the game for the Sioux. They try to start a brawl and basically decide to call it quits. What a crappy game. This may go down as at best the second worst game of the season for the Sioux. Quote
Siouxfan_inDenver Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 Kozek is so f'n cool for that. Quote
Siouxdonyms Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 This team needs to have a gut check time over the break VERY SIMILAR to last years team! Quote
BigGreyAnt41 Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 Sure, we could get back into it, but I'm tired of Kozek. Disagree with me all you want, but I think we should play with 11 forwards in the 3rd period. Quote
Siouxdonyms Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 Kozek is so f'n cool for that. I disagree with that. He'll get a penalty for that, putting us shorthanded to start the 3rd period. I don't know if he was frustrated (which is what it looked like) or trying to get the team going. If he wants to get the team going, he needs to come out with a big, clean hit. Quote
redwing77 Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 Just to save Lammy's stats, I say put Walski in. This game is lost. Pathetic. VERY pathetic. I bet Kozek is gone for the game. Malone and LaPoint will be serving time to start the period. Seriously, even with these guys sitting its not like: 1. We can complete a pass 2. We can stop turnovers 3. We can give Lammy the Team D he needs 4. We can beat the Gophers to the puck 5. We can cycle the puck (see #1) Maybe we can make this third period interesting. But, as far as I'm concerned, this game's in the books. Good win by the Gophers. Quote
Siouxfan_inDenver Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 Disagree with me on my stance on that last 3 seconds of play, but I think that is gonna get the crowd going, the players pissed and hopefully they'll come out with a big chip on there shoulder and turn it around. I will say this though. We have to quit putting the whole game on Lammy's back, he can only carry us for so long. Quote
Siouxdonyms Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 Gophers have a PP to start the 3rd. If they score, the crowd continues to be out of it, and we're definitely sunk. Dumba$$ penalty. Quote
ScottM Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 Why in the hell cannot this team put on two ... at least decent performances on a weekend? Jesus, I can't wait until January when they finally get their asses in gear ... Quote

Fair enough, although we kill the penalty and momentum shifts. God I love competition, sorry if I'm coming across as an Ahole. Quote
NDviaEP Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 So for my personal explanation as to why the Sioux have a tought time the first half each season: In high school I ran track and for the first part of the season, we would train through those early season meets, meaning we would do tough workouts even thought we knew we had meets in a couple days. This kept us from running as fast as we could at meets in the beginning, but paid dividends towards the end of the season when it mattered. We were far better conditioned because we didn't back down at the beginning. I think the Sioux may do something similar. Tough early season practices pay off later. It may mean tired legs and lazy passes now, but it's paid off every year with a late season run... maybe... Quote
