The Whistler Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 3 to 2 RPI still on top. 14:51 left in the 3rd. Quote
The Whistler Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 Another Power play goal for the ground rats 3 to 3. Quote
nd jg Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 Got to like the Homer Tourney Rules, Herd Woog say that the Goofs get the late game win or loose! Quote
Siouxfan_inDenver Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 Campion is an idiot official and it's absolute BS that the Goofs ended up with that goal. Quote
BigGreyAnt41 Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 Campion is an idiot official and it's absolute BS that the Goofs ended up with that goal. I thought Woog said it was the other ref (not Campion) that called that penalty. Not only that, but Woog said he didn't think it should have been called a penalty AT ALL, much less a 5-minute major. Siouxfan_inDenver Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 RPI 3, that other team 0 Werewolf Bar mitzfah, I love 30 rock man. Quote
31-9 Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 Campion is an idiot official and it's absolute BS that the Goofs ended up with that goal. The Enginerds got hosed. On the bright side, it'd be real nice if they beat BC tomorrow. Quote
AZSIOUX Posted October 13, 2007 Author Posted October 13, 2007 Campion is an idiot official and it's absolute BS that the Goofs ended up with that goal. embarassing he called that a check from behind. boarding at best. wow....that was pretty sketchy stuff at the X Quote

I'm buzzed up and could be getting my facts wrong, but I know I saw Campion on the back of one of the officials stripes. Quote
luapsided Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 whats funny is how the goofs are ranked in the top ten. God I wish sioux were playing two games this weekend Quote

Not only that, but Woog said he didn't think it should have been called a penalty AT ALL, much less a 5-minute major. It was Thul that made all the calls. Good for the WCHA to get the win, with Thul's help. Campion was the other official, but he wasn't making the calls. Quote
BringDeanBack Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 I guess with the whole NBA thing, no one can ever question whether refs fix or favor games. Anybody that watched the third period of this game, has to wonder what was going on. What a complete joke. If the refs are going to hand the game to the Goofs, then give RPI the courtesy of telling them that before the tourney so they don't waste the trip. How many more times do we have to see the Goofs get three and four straight power plays in the third period of close games and consistently have twice as many power play opportunities for the game versus their opponents. I would be ashamed to be a Gopher fan after what just happened in that game. Reminds me of Michael Jordan rules, give him as many calls as necessary so he can win the game. Quote
siouxnami Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 That had to be fixed. It is better for UND that the Gophers won, but come on. That had to be fixed... Quote

Spudshockey Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 JOKE, even the gophs fans can say that was halarious to watch really . they are lying if not I read the game thread on KFan Rube Chat and even the MN fans were calling that a BS call. Given the time of the game, you could even question a boarding call, but a 5 minute major and a game DQ.... Who is that Thul guy? Name is not familiar to me.... Quote
Siouxman Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 RPI got hosed with that call. I don't ever want to hear again that the Gophers don't get homer calls in the Twin Cities. That was plain bull. A very poor endorsement for the two ref system. Quote
farce poobah Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 To their credit, most of the crew at GPL says it was homer reffing ... Quote

PCM Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 To their credit, most of the crew at GPL says it was homer reffing ... Heck, even Frank and Doug sounded embarrassed by it. Quote
PCM Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 Who is that Thul guy? Name is not familiar to me.... I believe his name is pronounced "Tool." Quote
yzerman19 Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 As I said on another post, that call made for a sad day for college hockey. The Gophs had turned it on, albeit aided by some PPs, but that last call was truly an abomination. Let the players decide the game. Thul should be censured if not fired. Quote
redwing77 Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 It was interesting to watch the RPI bench after the call. The FSN North camera crew put the camera on him just so everyone would know that, at that time, it dawned on RPI who was going to win the game. I was impressed RPI didn't just roll over. I am sure Thul the tool expected them to. Heck, they nearly tied it with seconds left! Well, I think the two ref system like it was tonight is good in the NHL system, but it will be a miserable failure in the WCHA. In order for that system to work, you must have competent officials and competent administration. The WCHA has neither. Quote
