SIOUXELEVENS
Lines for next year. Duncan-Oshie-Malone(Oshie and Malone do the dirty work and Hobey finishes) Frattin-Trupp-Forney (lots of talent hope they produce) Watkins-VanVelde-Kozek (Walkins and VV meshed well hope Kozek does as well) Davidson-Kaip-Zajac (checking line who can cycle like crazy) Defensive pairings. Chorney-LaPoint Jones-Genoway Bina-Finley(you just got to keep the odd couple together)
squirtcoach
Interesting possibilities and the first questions on your lines; Is Malone fast enough to skate with these guys? Anyone seen him play?
Torpedo
I'm tellin ya, I think it's gonna end up being VV that centers the first line. Good on draws and can clean up the rebounds that Osh and Duncs generate in front of the net.

tnt
I think Trupp has a good chance at being on the first line, and although I didn't see Brad Miller's name on your line combos, He could even be given that opportunity if he tightens up a bit defensively. Other than that, I still would see Brad Miller working on at least the 2nd Powerplay unit.
I Ranger
I just don't see Davidson playing much next season. I have never seen him play and I would assume not many have since he just committed but I am guessing he will be a 13th to 14th type forward who gets a chance when someone gets hurt but not before guys like Radke, Miller and Martens get there shot. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if Frattin got a shot on the top line with Duncan and Oshie but the way that it sounds coming from the Blues Development camp is that Kariya is fitting in quite well with them and Trupp would remind me the most of the young Kariya. captsioux
Here are the lines in my opinion: Fowards Duncan, Oshie, Trupp ( I think we should try to keep a DOT Line) Watkins, Vandey, Miller(Here all you are doing is putting Vandey in for Porter) Kozek, Kaip, Radke (Keep the Bash Brothers together Kaip and Radke) Davidson, Zajac, Forney (The UND version of the Grind Line) Defence Chorney-Genoway (25+ pts each) Bina-Finley ( The odd couple Nothing else needed) Jones-Lapoint( I think you could also have marto where lapoint is) Goalie 1.Phil 2. Greico 3. Walski Captain: Kaip Asistants: Bina, Oshie What does everybody think about this?

I also think Frattin is gonna need a place somewhere. Gonna be alot of competition this fall. We are definately gonna need to find some scoring somewhere besides the top line. Whos gonna have a breakout year?

DAR
I like Vandey for a breakout year I am going to go with Kozek for a break out year. I would like to see him get around 15 goals. He needs to score more than he has in the past that is for sure.
nodak hockey fanatic
It's always fun to speculate, even more so with the logjam at forward this year. Here's my guesses... Duncan, Oshie, Trupp Watkins, VV, Miller Malone, Kaip, Frattin (Martens or Davidson) Kozek, Zajac, Forney Chorney, Lapointe Bina, Finley Jones, Genoway C - Kaip, A - Oshie, Chorney Radke could fill in anywhere if needed, but I don't think he has a spot locked up, also Martens and Davidson can jump in up front if someone is injured or underperforming. I think all four of these lines have awesome offensive potential. Kaip's experience would help the two freshman along, the fourth line may be a slight defensive liability, but hey, not a bad lineup. I can't wait, is it hockey season yet?!? Let the skate for #8 begin!!!

SIOUXELEVENS
I think Oshie is a natural center and so is VV thats why I have them split up.
brianvf
I think Frattin will play regularly. The coaches aren't going to bring a player in a year earlier than expected to have him sit on the bench and practice. Sounds like he can put the puck in the net too. siouxstudent
I dont necessarily think Vandys style is fit for the top line. I guess I just dont see him stepping in to Toews spot. Not exactly similar style players. I think Trupp has alittle more speed and playmaking ability for that. Im curious as to where the freshman will end up though. As far as I can see anyone is possible of playing anywhere at this point, or not playing at all.

I saw good ice presence, better than average back checking, and one burst of speed. Didn't see anything in that video that would convince me he can keep up with Oshie and Duncan. I think Trupp has a better chance than Malone, based on what I've seen. After the February and March that VV and Watkins gave us, I'd hate to break them up. Hakstol has multitude of forwards to pick from this fall. If I were trying for a regular shift, I would be working REAL hard this summer. siouxcrew87
Duncan-Oshie-Trupp (Didn't Oshie play Center his whole Freshman season?) Watkins-Vandevelde-Forney Frattin-Kozek-Miller Kaip-Radke-Malone Davidson could also be a 4th line possibility as this will be a tough guy line. D Chorney/Lapoint Bina/Finley Jones/Genoway
SIOUXELEVENS
Zajac was Oshie's center most of the year I believe.

USA Hockey
Remember that Trupp played center when he was in juniors whereas Malone and Frattin played wing. Realisticly Trupp or VandeVelde would be best to center the line simply because they have both played center. There are times when wings can step in and play center, VandeVelde I believe played wing in juniors, although he was brought in to center because it wasn't working out with Kozek on the second line. Unless they move Oshie to center, I think you will see one of these two on the first line.
redwing77
I just don't know who will center the fourth line. Watkins and Kaip have played Center at one point. Maybe it will go like this: Oshie VV Duncan Forney Watkins Kozek Zajac Kaip Malone Frattin Trupp Radke/Miller I know putting Frattin or Trupp on the 4th line is pretty weak and I'm sure Trupp would fit well on the first or second line, but We ALWAYS do better with 4 scoring lines and that MIGHT be the answer. And yeah, I know about Kozek. He'll turn things around. I know it. And having guys who can pass like Forney will help.
#1siouxfan22
I am not the biggest Miller fan but i think he has earned a good chance at the start of the season to prove he can play on one of the top two lines.
