HockeyMom Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 It was the first sweep of a WCHA team by the Sioux women. Congrats, and keep up the good work. Quote
dagies Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 Congratulations to the women's hockey team. I'm happy for them that they can start this new era off with some success. That's got to be refreshing for them. Quote
HockeyMom Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Get your butts in the stands tonight, Sioux fans! Quote
SiouxMD Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 OT 0-0 OSU v UND C'mon ladies...get this one! Quote
SiouxMD Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 Final - OT 00 UND 00 OSU 5 out of 6 points over the past three games...good job ladies!!! Three straight shutouts for Kirkham! GO UND Quote
WiSioux Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 Was a very fun game to be at. The intensity was great through the third and only increased with overtime. There was a lot more physical play than in past games I've seen. We had a few good chances but our power play could still use some work. Great game for Kirkham once again! Quote
HockeyMom Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 This team is more physical than a Sioux team has ever been. The intensity was pretty good in the OT last night. They had a few chances at the end to score, it just didn't happen. Hopefully they can get the win later this afternoon. It will be interesting to see how the ladies stack up against the likes of Wisconsin, Duluth and Minnesota. Remember, this team is mostly made up of Sophomores and Freshmen....... Quote

Way to start the WCHA season ladies! The team is playing much more fundamentally sound hockey than I have seen in the past. Good luck this afternoon, let's take a couple of points from the Buckeyes! dakotadan Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 Anyone know the score of the game? I am in a motel in Minnesota that won't let me use streaming audio or video over their wireless. Quote
siouxzy Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 Anyone know the score of the game? I am in a motel in Minnesota that won't let me use streaming audio or video over their wireless. Sioux leading 3 - 1 early in the third Quote
SiouxMD Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 3-3 C'mon ladies...5 minutes for the win. Quote
dakotadan Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 I couldn't believe the score when I got back to my hotel room and checked the final. A tough loss to see after a great start to the game. But the team is obviously already an improved team. The ladies just need to learn from this one and they will start to pull more of these games out. A tough challenge coming up next weekend as the ladies take on UMD at home. Quote
Goon Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 This team is more physical than a Sioux team has ever been. Now I have never been to a woman's game but I was under the impression that there is no checking in woman's hockey? Just wondering. Quote
HockeyMom Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 Now I have never been to a woman's game but I was under the impression that there is no checking in woman's hockey? Just wondering. A Sioux WOMENS team-I should have clarified. There is not checking in women's hockey, but there is incidental contact. Quote
Sioux_Yeah_Yeah Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 The Sioux fell to Duluth yesterday afternoon 9-2. Kirkham was pulled partway through the 3rd period, and Grace Edgar was put in. Kirkham and the Sioux are awesome, but Duluth is just such a great team and they seemed to have all the lucky bounces in their favor. If you get a chance, you should come out to the game this afternoon at 2pm and cheer on the girls at the Ralph!! I know they would really appreciate it, and the games are usually quite fun to be at! Quote
fightingsiouxfan57 Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 The Sioux played UMD much tougher on Sunday and it was reflected on the scoresheet. They need to take that effort to St. Cloud and get back on the winning side of the scoresheet. Points this coming weekend are critical in the standings and victory would be sweet for Brian and the team. Quote
UND85 Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 i'll be at the Sioux -Husky Women's game this weekend and am excited to see them play again. I saw them in action when they played NE in the cities earlier this year. Keep em' going Brian! Quote
Sioux_Yeah_Yeah Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 The girls did play a lot better against Duluth on Sunday and it showed in the score even though they still lost. They're in St Cloud this weekend, and I wish them luck!! Quote
aleah Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 I saw the womens team against st. cloud......I was really impressed!....they came from behind and tied the game on Sat. they outplayed the huskies at the end of the third and the entire OT! Way to go gals!.......plus a few of them stopped to chit chat with my 4 yr old (who was in awe of them)... Thanks Ladies! Quote
UND85 Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 I was there too and was impressed. Also saw them when they played NE in the tourney at the U of M in early October. They are improving and I am impressed with the coaching staff. Go Sioux! Quote
Goon Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 A Sioux WOMENS team-I should have clarified. There is not checking in women's hockey, but there is incidental contact. Incidential contact!!! LOL Quote
