Dean
Bull crap that stupid, this is a discussion board if people want to talk about the refs sucking and being worthless so be it, wanting to fire the Officials so be it. I don't know any of us that have used the refs as an excuse. I don't know if anyone has blamed a loss on the refs, however, they aren't very good and its a legitimate subject. Seriously if the coaches are making hints about it with out going on the record officially then they are really bad. If you aren't sold on the fact that the Refs are bad I have a tape of the Gopher game from Saturday that will re-inforce that point of view. If you want to take the high ground talk about Sioux fan's being halos and bitching about the people that bitch about the officials go to Gopher Puck Live. Seriously, we have too many board police right now. Discussion is good, we can't have a love feast that goes like this all of our players are good they just aren't gettting the breaks. The refs have a very hard job and its not fair to criticize them. Maybe we should spend a day in their shoes. I never said the officiating wasn't bad in this league. It gets old when our fans constantly blame the refs and percieve we are getting screwed week after week. Your blog seems to follow this type of agenda quite frequently. FIRE HELMET GUY #26
Dont worry about the goofers they like stirring the pot Isn't that what this weekend is all about!
Sioux_Hab-it
I agree 100%. Too many of our fans are already putting in a built-in excuse for a potential sweep of the Sioux this weekend. Have confidence in our team. It wouldn't have to be this way if the quality of WCHA officiating had kept up to the improved quality of the league over the past several decades. I follow the CHL and Tier Two Junior leagues in Eastern Ontario fairly closely and when I go to a game I know that I can expect officiating that is both predictable and consistent. I have never heard fans from either team have to say "Oh no, we have Anderson tonight so the calls will be made up" or "It's Shepard and his marbles tonight". Do you know of any other league where this is such a blatant problem
Slap Shot
So did we want to start the Briggs is a great big Sieve Cheer yet? If Briggs is a sieve then..... ...oh never mind.
Sioux-per Villain
I hope Erick Johnson touches lammy when finley is on the ice. Everyone on GPL is sayin how EJ this and Ej that. Or what wold even be more funny would be finley hammering on lucia's son. Finley? Please. At best he would probably help EJ up, brush off his sweater and escort him back to their bench. Robbie Bina hits harder than our pylon. The only thing missing from his uniform is pink tape on his stick. He may be 6'7" and 250 lbs, but he's really nothing more than a pussy. My money is on Radke or Kaip. Please prove me wrong this weekend big Joe.

It gets old when our fans constantly blame the refs and percieve we are getting screwed week after week. Your blog seems to follow this type of agenda quite frequently. First off none of us are going to suit up so it really doesn't matter what we say about the refs or if people make excuses. If I was going to blame anyone for the loses this past season I would point you in another direction. That is for another thread. However, the refs sucks, go back and watch the game between the Gophers and the Pioneers if your memory needs refreshing. That effort from Anderson is worthy of nothing less than scorn from both coaches. Dean I will send you the tape if you think I am missing the mark. I personally don't remember anyone saying we lost a game because of officiating. On that note anyone want to lay a buck down that the Gophers get more power plays than UND? Lets look at the number at the end of the weekend.

Oh by the way Slap shot, Brigg's numbers for his career aren't as good as our goalies. come on over and check it out. I thought I would stir the pot. Same Sieve Different Year Its getting too tame over here again. No more love feasts. Well I am off to walk the dog.

Goon
Your blog seems to follow this type of agenda quite frequently. I have only hit the refs a few times this season. Hum, one of them was a link and a plug of the Whistler article he wrote for say anything blog. I went back and checked and there is one article that was written in the last month that even hits the officials solely. I think its funny no one is hacking on Virg for writting it. Did you want me to send you the tape of the Gopher game from last saturday?
TC_transplant
On that note anyone want to lay a buck down that the Gophers get more power plays than UND? Lets look at the number at the end of the weekend. Of course Minnesota will have more power plays. Minnesota is averaging 5.6 power plays per game while North Dakota is only averaging 5.5 power plays. The WCHA is anti-Sioux.

cfm567b27
I never said the officiating wasn't bad in this league. It gets old when our fans constantly blame the refs and percieve we are getting screwed week after week. Your blog seems to follow this type of agenda quite frequently. You know...the fact of the matter is that every team in the WCHA has to play with the same referee(s) pairing game in and game out. I don't buy a biased officiating opinion nor to I subscribe to complaining (biatching) about officiating. If officials were native to only one team that argument might hold some water. Sorry to go against the grain here but bitching about officiating is wasted key strokes.
PCM
What is the Penalty Kill Stat for both? Overall, Minnesota is at 86.5% and UND is at 81.7%.
Sioux_Hab-it
Overall, Minnesota is at 86.5% and UND is at 81.7%. Thanks, but I meant average number of PKs per game in response to the PP # that was presented.
Goon
Overall, Minnesota is at 86.5% and UND is at 81.7%. Actually UND PK % went up over the weekend. Second I think UND has scored more goals on the PP then Minnesota as of late. Meanless stat because of how bad UND played on the PK early and how Minnesota came out so fast at the beginning of the season and now have fallen back a bit. Slap Shot
Oh by the way Slap shot, Brigg's numbers for his career aren't as good as our goalies. Assuming you're not just trolling......the difference in stats for Lammy and Briggs career wise (according to your blog) is a whopping 0.07 GAA and .003 SVE%. At that rate Briggs has let in one more goal than Lammy for every 14 games played or about 2 per year for 28 starts. So assuming your stats are accurate I will again point out that if Briggs is the sieve you claim him to be what does that say about a goalie with marginally better statistics? Oh well, should be a fun series.

redwing77
Overall, Minnesota is at 86.5% and UND is at 81.7%. Given earlier in the year, who'd thought I'd be excited to see our PK % over 80%! Our PK has been over 90% in the last 8 games though. Like I said, all I want is a good, hard fought, yet clean game. NO INJURIES please. My money is Shepherd is the ref. Just a hunch.
