bincitysioux Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 I heard on KNOX a little bit ago that they heard from Cassie Walder and Pat Sweeney that they aren't sure yet if this weeks football game will be televised and they're working on the bid. That would seem to completely contradict this.
CoteauRinkRat Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 I assume you mean this week's game, but whatever the case, it would only be more egg on their face if the game isn't on this week either.
Shawn-O Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 If this doesn't get put together, WDAZ's GM will be receiving a phone call, an e-mail, and a letter about it, for starters. This issue goes beyond the local viewing area.
The Walrus Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 I believe all GVSU games are webcast thru CSTV, I watched last week vs USD. They are light years ahead of our media disbursement at UND.
iceberg Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 well you know they have to televise that EXHIBITION game against the Under 18 hockey team Friday so that will probably be their excuse as to why they can't do the football game (if they say they can't)
The Sicatoka Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 C'mon 'berg, be fair: The arena has set cameras (no set-up/tear down) and is scheduled months in advance for that Team USA game. This game is a week's notice.
Eskimos Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 This game is a week's notice. They have had more than a week's time to get ready for this game. They even said so in that press release.
SiouxMeNow Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 It's monday...Everybody just relax and stop worrying how someone else can make your life better! I'm sure the team appreciates your support from your couch
SiouxMD Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 It's monday...Everybody just relax and stop worrying how someone else can make your life better! I'm sure the team appreciates your support from your couch I hate Mondays...
The Sicatoka Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 They have had more than a week's time to get ready for this game. They even said so in that press release. OK, two weeks (v. four months).
HockeyMom Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 If WDAZ doesn't broadcast this game- or if they are given permission to broadcast on Wednesday, and they don't make it........I guess that shows how they feel about UND athletics. This could be our last run at a DII National Title- get to Allendale for cripes sake!
SiouxMeNow Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 This could be our last run at a DII National Title- get to Allendale for cripes sake! Great advice! (even WITH the TV reference )
undfb1 Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 It shouldn't really matter if you have a good internet connection. Grand Valley webcasts all home FB games on their web site, so if UND/WDAZ doesn't get it together the game should be available...stay tuned
johnsowe Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 I just got my tickets for trhe game and they said the vistors is all sold out
iceberg Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 C'mon 'berg, be fair: The arena has set cameras (no set-up/tear down) and is scheduled months in advance for that Team USA game. This game is a week's notice. I am being fair. Yes the cameras are set up but lets say DAZ doesn't show the football game. They'll probably use the excuse "oh we couldn't get the crew from GF to Allendale in time" or "we didnt have enough crew to do both games" Maybe they'll get some people from DAY to help with production for one of the games. Believe me, I hope the game is televised.
Siouxmama Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 This is a huge game for the Sioux. With it being about 900 miles away, making the trip difficult for many people, there really isn't any excuse for WDAZ not to have a crew there.
bigmrg74 Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Actually, I believe that Comcast Local here in Michigan will be broadcasting the game. All your station would have to do is just pick up that signal there from the satalite, then splice a North Dakota Audio feed perhaps if they wanted too... Thats what GVSU and WXPS in GR did in 2004 I believe.
LeftyZL Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 I just got my tickets for trhe game and they said the vistors is all sold out That can't be right, can it?
bigmrg74 Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 I just got my tickets for trhe game and they said the vistors is all sold out That just might be the reserved amount of tickets that the home team has to set aside for the visitors, but then again, perhaps I'm underestimating the crowd for this game as well. I would be very impressed if UND was able to sell out the visitor's stands. And don't worry if you don't get a ticket now, GVSU will just keep printing Standing room only tickets. I would probably recommend though that you stand down by the track instead of on top of the hill over there. That win will cut right thru you.
HockeyMom Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 I would say that the visitors tickets are all "sold" because GVSU has "set aside" so many for UND fans....if they haven't sold by a certain point, UND will release those tickets. Hopefully we have a strong contigent in Allendale. Go Sioux!
puck Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Bob Kerr, GM of WDAZ, just announced on KNOX radio that they will broadcast the game Sat. They will be taking a feed from a Grand Rapids station with thier video and audio. On the FSSN.
