Turning the page on last season.

Hearing from sources that H/B is officially in on the girls side and there will be conference tournaments on the girls side next season.

West:  Dickinson, Williston, H/B, Minot, Century, Legacy/BHS, Mandan, Jamestown.

East:  Devils Lake, Grand Forks, N/S, WF United, Davies.

Wondering if Jamestown gets put in the east for the girls, or if they can even do that since all other Jamestown sports are in the WDA.  Also heard give it a year or two and all Jamestown sports will be in the EDC.  Don't know much about the status of Watford City joining either boys or girls side.

Hope we don't see too many kids leave early, but always a possibility with the way things are this day in age.

I'm guessing Hazen will be on board for girls hockey as well.  Also had been told at one point if both those teams jump, Langdon may consider it for the girls.

Not sure if this is true or not but I was told at one point the bylaws state you need 8 in a conference to run WDA/EDC type conference tournaments.  Interesting developments on the girls side.

I was told that with Watford and Hazen coming aboard that Jamestown will be heading to the EDC for girls hockey.  I'd assume the same would hold true for the boys side as it makes sense to have them in the EDC with travel.

I’d love for the Jays to go back east like it use to be

Any word on Minot splitting up this season now with a new AD at the helm? Boys and girls hockey must be the only sport that hasn't split yet?

I doubt Minot will for boys.  Minot girls not even close to the numbers for 2 teams, I don't think that or Grand Forks will ever happen for girls.

I think with a new AD in the fold next year it just gets pushed back further and further.  Would be interested to find out the split numbers between the two schools.  I know the All State goaltender and his older brother were North kids.

Must be frustrating for Jamestown to keep going from the wda and edc. I liked having Jamestown in the edc.

DL and Jamestown switched places back in 2006, so it has been 20 years now surprisingly. They are a better fit in the EDC so hopefully it stays this way for a long time now. Once North launches their program that should further solidify it.

I'd assume they'd follow as well? Wouldnt that be something, all of the sudden girls hockey has 4 additional teams.

Believe it or not, I know DL girls has gotten girls from Grafton Park River, on top of the norm from Cando, but they'd probably lose that connection if Langdon area moved to HS league.

And WF twiddling their thumbs despite numbers in the mid to high 30s.
