Panoam is also getting paid well at a big east school

It sucks because Panoam probably fits better at this level. I do not blame him at all though, gotta take the money.

BJ got a bag and Tyree likely got decent bag the second time.

No doubt many left for more money. But as we’ve seen around the country and even here at UND in other sports (hockey and football), players will stay despite $$ offers if you have the right plan and fit for them here. Tradition, culture and fit still matters some.

The coach is very important in that plan.

And having an NIL that is at least in the ballpark is also important. UND basketball doesn’t even have a trace of NIL right now and that needs to change or 3rd in the conference is the best we can all hope for … oh, and the coaching ….

If A3 returns and Moore still comes here, Uleman is gone.

if Uleman stays, A3 and or Moore will decommit

book it… we won’t have all 3 of these guys year next year as PGs

I’m not saying you’re necessarily wrong, but I think Uelmen, Smith and Moore could all coexist in the starting lineup, just as Wheeler-Thomas, Carson and Stefonowicz do for NDSU.

Wonder about smith and how well he listens to the coach

Probably the highest $/min guy! I guess BJ would maybe be higher but he is injured and I think Mier just isn’t good enough to play.

Yeah I think just need to keep his parents from getting too involved.

I met his parents they were very respectful people has anyone else? Why are we talking about kids parents in a basketball forum?

I don’t want any parent too involved. I haven’t met them but have sat near them and listened to them trying to tell the coaches what to do. In my opinion, let the coaches coach. Maybe I’m wrong!

I would assume they're basketball fans as we all are here. Judging by the forum there is a lot of bad mouthing coaches and players without much talk about the actual games statistics etc. So they cant speak about basketball like we do as fans? I hear a lot of sather bashing from our fans during the game. I agree let the coaches coach but unless its confrontation and things the coaches can hear what's the problem? Again I sat by them and talked to them for along time. Very knowledgeable about basketball.

Interesting comments from the new guy......🤔

In the last 2 games combined we are shooting 20 for 65 from the 3pt line alone

Yep. Live or die by the 3. The problem is it seems like we can't help ourselves even if they aren't falling we just keep casting away instead of maybe working for some drives or midrange shots. And trapping the ball is great when it works but if a team like ndsu is red hot from 3 n u keep trapping after 2 passes they have great looks n seems like we can't deviate ever. Cast 3s no matter what and trap no matter what.🤷‍♂️

Well said I couldn't agree with you more! If we're going to scrabble around trapping lets try scrambling around in a zone especially if the team is red hot! 16/29 57.1% from 3

That's my main issue is that we never try anything else during a game if it's not working. I mean when going from up 9 or whatever to down 10 maybe try a different defense or even at that point u go mono vs mono n play defense and make it point that your guy isnt gonna score on you.

Fair. I’m sure they are knowledgeable. Don’t mean to bash them was just my experience the one game. Let’s move on. I agree we need more basketball talk and that’s what I prefer to stick to too.

The 3pt shooting thing is interesting. I would say we have one really good 3 point shooter on the team in Kraft. Anderson isn’t bad but beyond that I don’t think that’s anyone else’s strength. Besides Kraft, Eaglestaff and Matt Norman, not sure we have had that many great 3 point shooters in Sather’s time.

Not a basketball guru but when they trap it seems like it opens up the 3 point shot and teams seem to sink UND

how does usd recruit a 7 foot guy to vermillion ?

Surprisedly Eaglestaf was only around a 35% 3 point shooter but a big volume shooter

The trap defense at least makes teams move the ball and make quick decisions. A backcourt of Greyson and Kraft is about as bad defensively as you can get. I can't imagine what teams would score if we just let them play 1 on 1 against those two all night.
