Yet somewhere an OC is being blamed

Did the OC make this same call repeatedly even though the QB has indicated he is incapable of making it?

I don’t see us getting that final spot.  Personally don’t think they know he’s Ivy League should be a two bid league but also am not sure 6 from one conference should get in either.

Frustrating day today

Harvard is going to be in for sure, Yale would've been the bigger question if they would've lost.

UND still gives me the feeling they will be 1st team out, expecially with no MVFC rep to advocate when UND is up since Chaves has to abstain. SDSU would've been 100% in if UND would've won today with this bubble. But UND with a better resume then what SDSU would've had if they lost probably won't make it. And it's understandable knowing that they were questionable coming in and still did the same thing they did against KState, Montana, and NDSU. Only good 3rs quarter the team played all year was at Murray state....

He is not a great QB but keep hoping

haha I meant the db that got all cocky and almost got a taunting penalty after his interception...must've typed in the wrong number.

Why does Seidel have to only have inside dives called? Also, we don't ever use fullbacks do we?

Utilized fullbacks and tight ends are a rare breed at UND.

I am not a ducky and bunny guy on here and I never will be.

But if you thought Schmidt was going to have this team contending for a championship in season one, you were setting yourself up for disappointment.

-The depth isn't there.

-The experience in big moments isn't there.

-The lack of athletes at wide receiver hasn't been there for years.

The portal will be important going forward. But the real measuring stick will be how Schmidt's recruiting classes pan out on the field. We'll find that out in the next couple of years.

I am sure Schmidt and his staff will look at the season and identify areas that need improvement, both in personnel and in scheme.

I know the past 15+ years have been frustrating and that whole Groundhog Day feeling is always just under the surface. But I still think Schmidt was a great choice long term. Less than 12 months is not a big enough sample size to determine if the hire was successful or not.

deng deng isn't an athlete???

this seasons collapse is on Ike....he decided to keep deng on the sidelines for two straight years over the caden Dennis experiement

Until the last year or couple years the Defense wasn't typically the problem, the offense was, and they kept the Bubba 2nd choice option hire, But Bubba held onto his OC for too long.

The Defense overall felt improved this year, and kept the team in games to give the offense more opportunities, which shows when we weren't blown out by anyone or even outscored by more than 6 all year. Still loses but the Defense was not our worry for most of the year. They came in with low expectations including a scheme change and outperformed what anyone expected.

Now the same things that has won us games under Schmidt defence in his DC stint also lost some games at that point but was also evident today was the house blitz when we failed to get to the QB all day. That last regulation and the OT series felt like the first backfield pressure all game, but 5 guys coming up the gut with no contain guy gave him all day and left 1 on 1 matchups that SDSU exposed on earlier big plays with such pressure. Keep 2 more guys in coverage there and may still have 3 guys persuing the QB instead of 5 and then could've had a spy. That TD pass was not a good ball, just our coverage guy looked back at the play allowing the WR to sink into the gap uncovered. Most teams would've had a safety coming over to help as the only options were the 2 WRs at the goal line and Henry eyed them down and floated that ball.

The TEs were shining at the start of the season when they were actually utilized and targeted. Know there were some injuries during the year but didn't matter as we weren't calling them.

We did have a good FB for a couple years in the Bubba era, think he may have been around the Santiago/Olivera era and would lead block for John, but also was removed to allow both John and Brady to be on the field at the same time, but Brady was a FB build and John hit hard for how small he was.

Not sure if I believe Lamar and Harvard behind us.

I don’t see how they leave out 9 win Monmouth and 9 win SELA either.

Lamar has 3 bad losses and no signature wins

They did beat South Dakota.  That loss today to McNeese was a bad one.  I believe UND will have two ranked wins now with Southern Illinois playing well today.

Another season, another disappointment for UND football. They cannot close out one score games. Was incredibly frustrated with the playcalling for good chunks of today's game. SDSU pretty much said, "Beat us with the pass." And we buckled. We had flashes where the offense looked good because they said, "screw running, we'll take what you give," and what the defense gave was almost anything we wanted via the pass. The deep slant was there all game long because for the majority of the game the SU safeties weren't even bothering with coverage, everything was run first. It was so frustrating seeing UND march down the field throwing the ball to tie up the game and the first thing they do in OT is immediately go back to ineffectively running the ball and falling behind the sticks. I'm just beyond frustrated with the offense. Defense got slapped in the mouth and held up for good chunks until they couldn't.

Sam Herder final braketology

https://herosports.com/fcs-football-2025-playoff-predictions-final-bzbz/

North Dakota lost to SDSU today to finish 7-5 overall, 7-4 vs. the FCS, has two currently-ranked wins (YSU, SIU), played the No. 2 SOS, and has multiple close losses to highly-ranked teams. UND’s SOS and two ranked wins lead to a nod over 8-win teams like New Hampshire and Lafayette. The committee in the past has said it tries to get the best teams in. UND is the best team for this last spot.
