Burnevik can fire the puck, he'll score wherever he goes. Henricks would be a great pickup.
Defense will still be an issue at UMN even with the potential Henricks addition unless they revamp everyone else.

Yeah I’m just assuming other improvements as well. Guessing Larson trims the fat and adds 1-2 more portal d-men. I also think we see them get 1-2 big CHL names. The checkbook will be open after this year’s disaster of a season

I would love to see the CHL studs reject any UMN offers after decades and decades of UMN anti-Canadian arrogance.

I believe the three St. Cloud forwards are headed to Dinkytown. Henricks is probable. I imagine they are trying to lure a few veteran defensemen from the portal. Most of their offseason will consist of combining the two rosters/committed lists. They have to lose a few players to get to under the roster limit.

I believe Luken Huff decommitted from SCSU a few days ago.  He had been committed to Larson since February of 2024.  6-3 195ish and a physical presence not really attributed to UM style of play.....perhaps there's a relation to that and the Grimes move as well.  

Larson was a great listen with Jupiter and Vegoe on GPL last night.  It's going to be a wild couple weeks in dinkytown.

Larson also had a couple commits on the blue line from Canada and has been vocal with the media about his ties up there.

It's gonna be difficult for some UMN fans if he starts getting a few Canadians on their roster.

IMO that's a thing of the past.  Not quite as distant as "UND is just a bunch of 25 year old canadians."  As long as they're still getting some of the best out of Minnesota, which they are, they need to sprinkle in some of that.  I don't think any of us would've been pissed about Reschny, Verhoeff, Malone or McKenna - :-).  

Larson was also on another podcast this week and said they've already been up North since he started and there's a couple targets that would help immediately.

I think a majority/plurality Canadian Minnesota roster would be hilarious, especially to see the insular tribalist Goofers fans "stop watching" or whatever they said they'd do with a very Canadian roster.

Some observations: the USHL is harder to score in obviously, so the guys who do produce well are super impressive, but man, so many guys throughout that league who have pretty brutal junior production. Stacking a lot of the best young talent on one team (NTDP) means that a lot of the other teams/roster spots are filled with pretty meh players.

Doesn't mean they can't be good NCAA players, but just means there's less pure offensive talent in that league.

It’ll be interesting to see how long this offseason drags out. Is it simply CHL players waiting until after the season to announce commitments? You have to imagine they are much further along in their recruitment compared to last year. 
 

I am really hoping Carels and other targets materialize.

Carels is number one priority, imo. He’s such a good player. Would be thrilled if he commits.  
 

UND really needs a right handed top 6 winger. Liam Ruck would fit that bill. The two defenseman power play unit was a tough watch most of the time. I do not like Verhoeff at the flank but he was probably the best right handed option.

Depends on what DuPont wants. Presuming he's accelerated his education to graduate HS early, he can go to the NCAA and make a ton of NIL for a Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State type program, he can go to the NCAA and play for less NIL but a great program that builds great teams like Denver (or North Dakota). He can also stay in major junior in the Dub for his draft year and put up monster points and play all the minutes he wants.

 

Just depends on what he wants. His family is well off (his dad Micki play in the NHL briefly and had a long European Pro career) so this isn't an NIL situation where he will automatically commit to the highest bidder.

It's all linked to an X account with 13 followers who claims that DuPont was visiting the UMN campus yesterday...despite being at practice with Everett for their playoff game today.  I doubt it.
