dagies
I kind of hope Zach Jones wears a number besides 3. He should have his own identity.
I Ranger
I kind of hope Zach Jones wears a number besides 3. He should have his own identity. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> My guess is that he wears #6 next year. Thats the number hes been wearing for the US team. I don't think he will change to carry on the Jones' tradition but you never know.

THETRIOUXPER
Nope, not family, just a fan of good hockey and players that play the game with lots of heart and dertermination, blue collar type players, gritty, you know, it's great to have superstars, but you need workhorses also. THETRIOUXPER
Sorry fellas, really I don't mean to offend anyone, just bored, no hockey The truth of the matter is I wouldn't know any of these players if I bumped into them on the street unless they were wearing a helmet and a jersey with their number on it. I think we have many fine recruits coming and I am excited to see them all play this fall. Someone please hit fast forward and let's get the season going. THETRIOUXPER
Just saw this on USA Hockey, Tj Oshie, invitee to World Jr. Team evaluation camp, along with Lee and Jones, and Chorney, congrats and good luck to all of them.
The Sicatoka
It's "Chorney, Jones, and Lee". It "flows" better that way, and sounds a little like a (lay down the) law firm, plus, it's alphabetical. "Chorney, Jones, and Lee: For the defense." The story: http://www.usahockey.com/usa_hockey/news/j...val_camp_rost//

THETRIOUXPER
This may seem a little off topic but I recall seeing something about the "Friendship Broom" posted earlier in this thread. Well I found it, the broom now reides at the Italian Moon in the front of the restaraunt, along with tons, and i mean tons of other pictures, jersey's and other sports treasures (mostly hockey). If you haven't been in there lately it's worth the trip. The queso is worth the trip alone but the sports stuff is an added bonus. Lot's of pic's from this years hockey team and their playoff run, there's a good one of Smaby ringin' up Irmen. Also a cool picture of TJ from the high school tournament this year, and an awesome painting of Henry Boucha. Check it out you won't be disappointed. Greyeagle
I LOVE that movie. I need to rent it again. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Your royal dudeness....just buy it! It is a great movie, I love it when John Goodman gets a face full of ashes.
PCM
Your royal dudeness....just buy it! I've got the DVD. Lots of places have it for $10 or less. It's a steal at that price. It is a great movie, I love it when John Goodman gets a face full of ashes. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You need to watch it again. Goodman dumps Donnie's ashes. Jeff Bridges (The Dude) gets them in the face. Yttrium
Nice story on UND Sioux recruit T.J. Oshie from his home newspaper back in Stanwood, Washington, just outside of Seattle. WWPKD
I kind of hope Zach Jones wears a number besides 3. He should have his own identity. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thats the dumbest thing ive heard all day--"The name on the front is a hell of a lot more important then the one on the back" Herb Brooks (Kurt Russel in Miracle)
dagies
Thats the dumbest thing ive heard all day--"The name on the front is a hell of a lot more important then the one on the back" Herb Brooks (Kurt Russel in Miracle) WWPKD, please let me apologize for your perception of what I wrote. Maybe I should have written this instead: "I kind of hope Zach Jones wears another number besides 3. Then I won't look on the ice and keep thinking I see Matt Jones". Yttrium
It's interesting that T.J. Oshie moved up from 109th in the midseason rankings to 43rd in the NHL Central Scouting final rankings. Obviously, winning another state title for Warroad ... plus a successful stint with the Sioux Falls Stampede ... and coming to UND next fall helped that jump. Not sure where things will stack up for him on Saturday at the NHL Draft in Ottawa but a very exciting time for Sioux fans knowing that several incoming players will be drafted. Good luck to all the boys!
DMT
From ROI regarding TJ Oshie...you have to love this comment: "Smartest player in the draft not named Crosby."
THETRIOUXPER
No surprise there, I've been saying it for a while now, a great compliment nevertheless, along with all the other stellar talent coming in, I say this..... fasten your seatbelts fellas the next 2-3 years will be quite the wild ride. tnt
I just think UND is rushing the kid. Besides we have more than enough talent to finish year with, without rushing a kid up to the WCHA. Its not like he played for Shattacks were they play 80 games against tougher competition... <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
THETRIOUXPER
Just a couple thoughts here, I think there are certain things that make a great player, obviously God given skills, determination, work ehtic, a desire to succeed, none of these I truly believe are coachable, they are inherent. I have said in previous posts that people will be suprised when they see TJ play, reallistically he will have an adjustment period, but I have watched him over the last three years and he has continued to improve game after game, year after year. Congatulations TJ for attaining a lifelong dream and here's wishing you well with your future endeavors at UND and beyond.
