I was addressing the incorrect premise that unless a kid is going in the top 2 rounds of the the CHL or USHL Draft, there is no reason to leave NDHSH early to go to a Tier 1 program. I recognize that some of the kids that finished HS got D1 scholarships, but they also generally had to go the route of the NAHL and did not go to blue blood D1 hockey programs. The kids that went to places like North Star Academy were able to go the USHL route and got into stronger programs like the NCHC. I don't think it is a coincidence. I also don't believe that a Fargo kid like Ben Strinden would have gotten the opportunity to play in the USHL without going to North Star.

What NDHSH kids left for the North Star Academy and ended up going to a blue blood program other than Strinden? I think he's the one and only? In fact, their entire alumni page only shows 3 kids total going to blue blood programs total. Unless I'm missing something? 

I can list FAR more that went there that can't even make USHL rosters and a few that can't even make NAHL rosters.

Along with Ben Strinden at UND, Lincoln Kuehne was at North Star and is at ASU, and Bauer Berry was at North Start and is at St. Thomas.  Name 3 kids from ND that stayed in HS through their senior year that went to a blue blood program.

Pretty good game to start the tournament.  Could've gone either way.  Both teams missing their best senior d man, and a pretty even game that ended up in OT.

Unfortunately not all the games will be like that.  The next two probably pretty ugly.

Sheyenne vs. Red River tomorrow night is going to come down to Sheyenne's young goaltender having to play extremely well.

ASU and St Thomas are not Blue Bloods.   Will Howard at Augustana.  Augustana is just as good as St Thomas and much better than ASU.

hahaha so the answer is none. Striden is the only one, just like I pointed out. Thank you, well done. 

This NSA cope is getting uncomfortable for me now. But if you really have to ask despite me just laying out the list for you to see, there are actually just as many if not more if you count Maine as a blue blood. Sandy at UND, and Holt at Maine.
