I don't agree about it only working for HS teams, but we can disagree, I actually think it works all the way to NBA level and you sometimes see NBA stars being sent to the bench or get sent to the 2nd squad - It's the nature of competitive sports - if you're not producing, you sit. I don't see that as a HS thing. I guess when it comes down to it, last year I found myself wondering why some of the rotation guys were left to struggle for so long, especially when the team was struggling. Now I'm looking forward to this season, and I wish we had seen more of the returners play last year rather than just instantly discard them as being no good. 

Co St was the first game of the year, Norte Dame it was never really out of hand till the end of the game, Bethune & Louisiana you dont put the bench squad in when its not out of hand yet. Conference games none of it matters. 
 

The NBA has the best players in the world, the dropoff from the starters to bench players is a low different than it was for UND. Its also college athletics you cant play every single person on the roster especially when you’re a middle of the pack low major team. Clearly from what Sather saw they weren’t ready to play and thats fine.

 

They were RS freshman not RS seniors or juniors, they will definitely get opportunities this year in practice and games to prove themselves.

I wonder what the returns are for St Thomas in this deal. It can't hurt the metro recruiting to having their games live on the local Fox channel in the metro area, but I wonder to what extent it helps them (if any) with recruiting or just income from the station?

Looks like we got a new commit ? Anyone know who it is ?  I hope its not another way to early offer to a mid level north dakota kid like Erickson and Doppler.  This is around the same time of year he offered them before they even played their senior year.

Very sad that the men's basketball forum has got this dead. We use to have alot of talks about new recruits.   This program really has sunk.

Omaha announced the signing of two players yesterday. One of them averaged 6 ppg in the ACC last year. We could use something like that

Hockey and Football are the primary focus - basketball is the 3rd child. Basketball talk will pick up in a few weeks when we get closer to the exhibition games.

I get that but normally on signings there was some excitement for it.  Preseason is less only a few weeks away.

I haven't heard anything, but based on what little info people are sharing, I'm going to guess Brooks Bakko from Kindred. Personally, I'd be surprised that he'd pass up all the football offers (Michigan, Oklahoma, etc.), but it's possible he just prefers basketball, and wants to stay close to home. I'm sure we'll find out soon enough. Kindred is actually in town to play Red River in football tonight.
