He thought he was joining a stacked team, most of his would have believed him preseason. Turns out that Hutson is the only elite player on that roster and everyone is too young and/or underwhelming.

But it speaks volumes that Boisvert didn’t see the ice 3 x 3.  That has got to be a slap in the face.

Sucks they go to a shootout now vs previously doing the continuous 5v5 OT until there’s a winner.

Agreed. What a crap way to decide these Beanpot games as we’ve seen some amazing overtime games over the years.

Will be interesting to see if he stays another year at BU, or signs with Chicago after the season.  Still think he could be a better pro than Oliver Moore, so be interesting to see if he gets his mojo back.  From 18 goals as a freshman here to 3 at BU.  Seems he made a poor choice.

He was brought in with the thought that he would be a 40+ point guy and sign after the season. BU has three first round picks (Shilov, Malhotra, and Lawrence) committed for next year and they all play center. Something probably has to give. It wouldn’t surprise me if one of those guys flipped or Sacha is back in the portal. He could just sign or play wing, but both of those options are probably not good for his development.

I could only listen to the Northeastern radio broadcast and the commentators inferred NU wasn’t aggressive enough on that albeit short power play. Given BU’s youthful but skilled talent, if I‘m the Huskies coach, I’m telling my power play unit to be aggressive out there and try to end it in overtime.

Lawrence is already there and center on his line, Saha is playing wing

Eiserman has regressed as well. The sophomore slump is contagious.

Credit to Pandolfo I guess for putting up with Eiserman. He has next to 0 hockey sense.

He's looking like the low floor version of himself right now. Not good

Two lessons in this saga:

For Boisvert, the grass is rarely greener on the other side.

For Pandolfo, not all shiny objects have value. He'll probably due his due diligence next time before bringing in another high-profile portal guy.

Tough spot for 17 yo Lawrence to be in: brought in mid-season with no training camp to acclimate himself, coupled with teammates who have either mentally checked-out &/or are simply underperforming.

The crazy thing for Boston University is that the only guy that is ready for pro right now is Cole Hutson and they only have one senior (our old friend Owen McLaughlin), meaning they might not have enough natural departures to make room for their recruits like Malholtra, Shilov, Norringer, Glance, etc.

This makes me think we'll have some turn pro who probably aren't fully ready (Eiserman, Boisvert, Harvey) and/or multiple portal departures. Pandolfo has his work cut out for him. 3 straight Frozen Fours, no National Championships, and now a disaster likely tournament miss season. Naurato and Michigan turned it around after 3 straight Frozen Fours, no National Championships, & then a disappointing tournament miss season, we'll see if Pandolfo and Boston University can do the same next year
