Weird that he didn’t mention his classes or studies at all…oh, and the $700k they’re paying him.

I thought the scheduling was a typo for Saturday but this MSU vs Penn State game is actually 6PM puck drop tonight, then followed by a 1PM puck drop on Saturday.

A little surprised both teams didn't try and move game 1 to Thursday night to give some recovery time. Playing on minimal rest outdoors in 0 degree temps isn't exactly ideal.

Thought the same thing, that's a crazy tight turnaround.

What games are of interest this weekend?  What teams are we rooting for?  I will give it a go from the perspective of improving conference standing and NPI standing.

NCHC

Omaha over Western Mich

Duluth over Denver

NON NCHC

St. Thomas over Mich Tech

Bemidji over Northern Mich

Clarkson over Princeton

Mercyhurst over RIT

Minn over Wisc

Ohio State over Mich

Penn State tie (x2) with Mich State

The Penn State/Mich State tilt makes me wonder what the difference, if any, would be between a straight split and two ties when it comes to the NPI?

Bowling Green over Notre Dame is good for us with 2 common opponents plus Big Ten OOC dropping.

Article mentioned he started forechecking

I read it more that he benefited from his teammmates' strong forechecking...:whistling:

His gwg against Minnesota was the result of a terrible giveaway at their own blue line (Ludtke?) and Perron just happened to be the closest player to the puck.

Really hoping that Latkoczy can play out of his mind and get UNO some points from WMU.
Doubt it will happen, but we can hope.  ;)

The bottom 5 of the NCHC is really tight.  Playoff seedings might be a complete mystery until that last weekend is done.

How about we revisit this in 3 years and see how it looks.

It also makes no sense to make a list with no one that had the option to go CHL to NHL. In 3 years let's see the data of players going from CHL to NCAA to NHL vs CHL to NHL. As much as Brad and others keep setting up, moving, setting up again, and moving again of the goal posts to make a point. Hard to argue that the CHL is the best way to be a 1st round pick and make it to the NHL. Now those players have a new option that wasn't there, so these arguments are moot until these CHL players go the NCAA route and have greater success than the previous years.
