tnt Posted July 13, 2022 Posted July 13, 2022 Ottawa really looks to be making a push for the playoffs next year with the signings of Giroux, DeBrincat and Talbot. Add Sanderson to the mix and Pinto returning from injury, and they might be on the brink of making the playoffs again. Still need their young guys to take a step forward, but should be inching closer. 1 Quote
The Sicatoka Posted July 14, 2022 Posted July 14, 2022 The FA signings yesterday were good, but some of the trades were eye-opening. VGK: Take Patches, we don't want nothin' back. Just get his contract off our books. CAR: Pass. VGK: We'll throw in something called Dylan Coghlan CAR: ... if you insist ... or OTT: Take Matt Murray and his contract, please. We don't need anything back. TOR: Hard pass. OTT: We'll throw in a 2023 3rd round pick TOR: ... we're listening ... OTT: ... and a 2024 7th round pick. TOR: Well if you're going to force us, sure. cberkas Posted July 16, 2022 Author Posted July 16, 2022 Chuck Fletcher could have had Gaudreau (whose team growing up is the Flyers), but he finds a way to screw that up by spending too much money on the same type of defensemen Quote

sioux rube Posted July 22, 2022 Posted July 22, 2022 Another core piece has fallen into place for the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Blue Jackets signed restricted free-agent star Patrik Laine on Friday to a four-year deal with an average annual value of $8.7 million. Quote
tnt Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 Blake Wheeler removed as Winnipeg Jets captain. Why not try bring in Toews and let him be a captain and mentoring some young guy to take over after he retires? Quote

This is what I speculate will happen . . but how much salary would Chicago have to retain? 50%? Quote
cberkas Posted September 21, 2022 Author Posted September 21, 2022 Most of the NMC/NTC have all the teams in Canada on them, I just don't see Toews going to play for a team in Canada. Quote
The Sicatoka Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 CapFriendly shows Toews with "NMC" and "No-Move Clause - 0" when you hover over the NMC. Not sure what that "No-Move Clause - 0" means. Haven't seen that notation there before now. https://www.capfriendly.com/teams/blackhawks I'd guess anyone would ask CHI retain no less than 50% salary and probably also ask for a player or pick. Any NMC can be waived by the Player.... in a per team or deal basis Chicago is making it reallllly attractive to find a new place for Toews and Kane... They'll use the "Goodbye period" to sell as many tix as possible up to the trades. Quote
