New format?

Did the site change its format or did I have a change on my end?  There is a portion on the RH side that is unused, and quotes inside of posts seem truncated.  I am on a quite old laptop while I fix my already old laptop.

I noticed the same thing.  Said to myself, WTH did I do and how do I fix it.

yeah, I don't care for it either, if it is on my end i would like to change it back, if the site changed well then it is what it is

Using ipad, same issue. Do not like it but will tolerate it as well to get my hockey fix

Mobile change I think is excellent.

I wonder if the space will be used for advertising?  A smart move if it is.

I don't often use the site on my phone, is there a "desktop" version i can utilize?

Only gone to SS on my laptop and desktop the last few days, like most of the changes. The columun on the right ends up empty as one skrolls down a ways, seems like a waste of space.
I'll have to check my phone.

There was a version upgrade of the software, but there isn't supposed to be any significant change in layout. On a laptop, on the front page (index of forums) I see a right-hand column with recent posts, popular posts, etc..., but that's always been there.  For the people who see the empty space, is that on a computer? Do you see the recent/popular posts column?

it is not always happening, right now on this thread it goes full width, 

 

not sure if it could be related but I also noticed that quotes are handled a bit differently

Found it. It's a new feature. It just kicks in (by default) on threads with more than 3 pages. Rather than disable it altogether, I moved it just below the first post on computers, the same as mobile. 

If we don't like that, I can always disable it altogether in the future, but let's try this for a few days.

I just completed a version upgrade of the database software, so it's possible that some new features are changing the appearance (as happened above). Let me know if anything looks wrong and I'll get on it!
