Nice to see where the benchmarks are.

Fire Brewster? I think it's been an issue of not having much quality depth. Lloyd, Evers, Lauck, Dyer and Szabla can all score, but nobody else has shown much of an ability to put up points on a semi-regular basis, and the outside shooting has been pretty erratic. The good news is that there does appear to be a very good recruiting class coming in. But there will be pressure on several of them to step up immediately, because frankly from what I've seen, there are a lot of freshman and sophomore scholarship players who have a long way to go, particularly offensively, before they can be counted on to be part of the regular rotation. GDPritch
While Brewster's team may be "underachieving", it's not by chance that term was selectively used (such as mediocre or poor, such as you could describe one team's season) to describe the women's teams season to date. Yes, the women's bar was much higher than the men's team coming in this season. The women hhowever, unlike the men's team, are still a good BSC team and should still make the BSC tourney and have that shot at making the dance. The men meanwhile won't even make the conf tourney so no shot at all.

The MBB team's loss to SUU last year giving them their only conference win is constantly brought up as a reason to fire Jones. And just to clarify, I in no way think that Brewster should be fired but his team is definitely underperforming this year.

UND went from worst to first so the bar moved up where the men's bar went from the top 3 to 9th. So maybe the women's team is just averaging out while the men are bottoming out. At least Brewster is getting Dance experience which will go a long way.

Cratter
So if Jones wins one more game last year (to go to the NCAA tournament) the Mens and Womens teams are about equal in conference play the past three years? One game could have entirely changed a fan bases perception of a coach. Also luckily for Brewster NDSU womens basketball stinks (who needed OT to beat a 10-17 NDSU). Brewster went to the NCAA tournament last year and this year lost to 3-23 Portland St.

bincitysioux
Brewster hasn't been the head coach for 9 seasons and compiled an overall record that is 20+ games under .500......... IMO the situations are not comparable because Jones has been here 3 times as long. Nobody was calling for Jones' head a few years back when he only won 8 games because it was just his 4th season here. He was given the benefit of the doubt...... It isn't as though Jones was just recently hired and this is the first season where the men's team has struggled....
the green team
If the question is depth...wasn't Brewster recruiting for depth when he was head coach in waiting? And yet there is no depth on this current team. Hey if the shoe fits? Wear it. Buck was a Roebuck recruit, he was lucky to have gotten her, as she was the reason they had a remarkable turnaround last year.
the green team
Brewster doesn't whine cry and blame it on other people Disagree with that. He whined so much publicly once about the officials that he was suspended by the league for a game in his 1st year.

The reality is that Brew has pretty much only brought in one real contributor (so far) in each of his first three high school recruiting classes. He needs to do better than that. Yes, some of those who haven't contributed yet could still do so, but generally speaking if a player hasn't shown anything in her first two years, it's never going to happen.
