Unfortunately, a 2nd half drought ended any chance of a major road win as UNI took a 64-52 win. SWSiouxMN Player of the Game from UNI: Terrell De Rouen First Impression was a good one, hitting 4 of 7 from the field, including going 3-6 from downtown. Need him to stay on the court more, he got into foul trouble early against UNI. Synopsis on Mayville State The Comets are already 3-3 on this young season, taking a doubleheader against Silver Lake College last weekend. Tonight they head to to Augie before coming up to Grand Forks tomorrow. Key Players: #42 Chuck Robinson (Jr) 6'7 Forward Top post player, had double figures in 5 of his first 6 games. Averages about 6 boards a game and can get up and block shots. Look for Mayville to attack our posts with Robinson, he is their tallest player. Our post play is still our weak spot on the team. #2 A.B Najee (Jr) 6'3 Guard Biggest shooting threat, can take it to the rack and shoot it from outside. Shooting around 49% from the field and around 33% from downtown. Keys to the game: 1) Assert your will: UND need to come out and use their talent to overwhelm Mayville right from the start. We cannot have a repeat of 09-10. Losing to an NAIA team will kill whatever momentum that has been gain from the game down in Iowa. 2) Hooker: He needs to get his confidence up after a so-so performance down in Iowa. Hopefully a 15-5-5 line or better with around 45-50% shooting should help with that 3) Post Play: Calc or Cashman... PLEASE STEP UP! The Call: This should be nothing more than a tune up game and UND should be able to name their score. If they struggle against Mayville, it will be a major red flag. Look for Hooker and Nash to get their games going after so-so performances down in Iowa, and the usual 15 points from Lenny (okay that was mean ) Get the team ready for a big test down in Brookings on Friday. What exactly is to that rumor anyways? grades? some small and dumb NCAA rule that should have been gotten rid of years ago but still there and bites a player every now and then?
