Oxbow6
As usual you miss it all. You said the Christian religion was being constrained. What is being constrained, that you whine about, is the ability to impose your religious beliefs on others. Which is exactly what this country was founded on. The right to not have other people's religious beliefs imposed on you. Are students banned from wearing crosses around their necks? And what the heck is a bible doing in a school house for in the first place? Then you have the parents who think by sending their children to religious schools will keep their virginity in check until marriage. Doesn't happen. Typical spin and misinformation on your end again. I never said Christian "religion"...I said values. Big difference...and being the smartest person on this board you should know that. So you admit catering to Islam is ok in our schools with the hijab and seperate rooms so they can pray because we don't want to offend their religion but having a bible in school and reciting the Pledge of Allegiance is a totally different matter? Got it........... I'll ask again...give me your take on the death sentence of the pregnant "muslim" lady in the Sudan. Enlighten all of us, please. And I can do this all day with you...because the more you reply you simply come across as the idiot you are...under any moniker.

I would think you would be a big fan of Catholic school education, watchwolfofchicagoland. Here's a short summary of my education in Catholic grade school from 1977-1983: US and the atomic bomb - the US deserves to be punished for unleashing this evil upon the world. The Soviet Union - if the US government would just dismantle its nuclear weapons, the Soviets would do the same. We just need to sit down and talk with them. Western European government - we would all be much happier in America if the US government would adopt western European-style systems and pay us for vacations, maternity and paternity time off, etc. Oh, and health care, too. The 1980 election - which Democratic candidate do you support? Ted Kennedy, obviously, because he's Catholic. Surely you won't be supporting Reagan, he just wants to nuke the Soviet Union and hates poor people. That pretty much sums it up. God bless tolerance!
MafiaMan
But why don't you give us your take on Jews/Israel and the death sentence just handed down to the 28 year old pregant "Christian" muslim in the Sudan. Her toddler is in custody with her - since he's not allowed to be raised by his Christian dad. Of interest, though, is the fact that this woman's attorney is a Muslim and has had death threats made against him for even defending this woman. Kudos to him for doing the right thing. Did you know that the Pledge of Allegiance was written by an avowed socialist? Did anyone say you could not wear a cross around your neck? Which would be the same thing as a hijab. OK then what so-called religious values are being constrained?

Answer to question 1: Michigan, Maryland, California, Tennessee and the District of Columbia to name a few. Answer to question 2: Totally irrelevant to this topic...so what. Answer to question 3: No, but a 16 year old girl at Bismarck (ND) High who is Catholic can't wear it while playing in a volleyball game but a 16 year old muslim girl can wear a hijab palying in the same game. Answer to question 4: See answers to questions 1 and 3. Again for a third time...give me your opinion on the Sudan death sentence of a "Christian" muslim pregnant women. That's right around the corner when we have schools telling kids they can't wear American flag t-shirts because it might offend someone. The Cross is probably next. Also is ANY type of jewelery allowed to be worn? i bet you also would like to see school vouchers also.

These kids wore t-shirts because they were junior redknecks looking to cause a problem. The principle, being wise, knew what they were up to and stopped them. Also schools can have dress codes. I believe it was 2006 that a Muslim group requested that they have their own separate prayer room at the MSP airport because the general prayer room apparently wasn't good enough...it's never good enough, werewolf, that's the whole problem. MafiaMan
Did you know that wearing clothing depicting the flag is a violation of the flag code? Technically correct, which is why I don't buy or wear US flag swimming trunks or shirts covered in the flag. I think this is something the WWII generation had drilled into them but has fallen on the wayside with generations after...

BobIwabuchiFan
What does this mean? This country was not founded on Christian values. This country's founders wanted more than anything to keep religion out of government. What Christian values are being trampled on? The right to push your religious beliefs on everyone else? Sounds more like the Taliban. The fact you state the country wasn't based on judeo-Christian values shows you are ignorant of your American history...To the contrary, the founders wanted a country in which to practice their religion freely without government intrusion and determination of state-based religions.
