MafiaMan Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 No other way to say this...but for the host country, the Russian men's hockey team has been the biggest disaapointment. And it's not even close.............. OK, gfhockey... You aren't kidding, though. I kept waiting for Team Russia to turn on the jets...but the jets turned out to be prop planes. Quote
Ray77 Posted February 19, 2014 Author Posted February 19, 2014 Words can not describe how much I love the Russian fail. How about these? Can they help to describe it? Quote
Ray77 Posted February 19, 2014 Author Posted February 19, 2014 Russians hanging around center ice, looking unsure of what to do. Gave the crowd a half-azsed stick salute and there were a smattering of cheers along with a lot of whistles (boos). Quote
cberkas Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 The team is going to be put on a train and sent out to Siberia. Quote
MafiaMan Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Let the riots begin. Right! It'll be like Dinkytown AFTER the 2002 NCAA hockey title game. Quote
SiouxTupa Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 3rd consecutive Olympics without a medal for the Russians...so I don't think they went in thinking it would be a cakewalk. But home country advantage along with one of the more skilled teams in the tourney means this was a big disappointment. Happy for the Finns! Rask is a beast. Quote
Big Green Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Anyone know if the USA game can be watched on the internet? Quote

Gave the crowd a half-azsed stick salute and there were a smattering of cheers along with a lot of whistles (boos). They gave a better salute to the Canadian fans four years ago..c'mon, Russia...that was terrible. Your fans were there to support you and the biggest memory of the tournament you gave them is a 4-0 shut-out over NORWAY? Valeri Kharlamov and Sergei Makarov are rolling over in their graves... Quote
Ray77 Posted February 19, 2014 Author Posted February 19, 2014 Anyone know if the USA game can be watched on the internet? Yes, on NBCOlympics.com. You have to choose your television provider and then login. Quote
MafiaMan Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Russia thought it was going to easy. That they were guarantied a gold medal. Where did you read that kind of smack-talk? Quote

Blackheart Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Where did you read that kind of smack-talk? It was in the 'Fire Comrade Hakstol' thread... Quote
sioux rube Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 How about Selanne. 43 years old and had a huge goal and an assist. Love it. Quote
cberkas Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Where did you read that kind of smack-talk? Look how they played every game. Quote
MafiaMan Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 And that game against Norway was closer then the score indicated. I know...I predict lots of heads rolling in Russia over this. Olympic FAIL. Quote
sagard Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Right! It'll be like Dinkytown AFTER the 2002 NCAA hockey title game. Helsinki doesn't riot after simple olympic QF wins. The Russians will hit the sauce. Looked like their team did already. Ovechkin sucks. He takes a massive run at Selanne in the last minutes, but of course he failed. Quote
