I recall promises being made to Detroit ownership during the last realignment about keeping them in the Eastern time zone?  Swap Nashville and Detroit and I agree with this.

Wait!  Detroit still has an NHL team?:)

Did Vegas’s jerseys get MafiaMan’s seal of approval?  Apparently they are selling like hot cakes as top selling jersey in the league.

I really do like the grey buckets they wear.

The white and gold trim gloves not as much.

While not a fan of the team being called "Vegas" instead of "Las Vegas," I do give my blessing to their jerseys.  Great looking color scheme and logo.

Kansas City may get an NBA team to go with Seattle.  Have to balance the conferences.

That probably takes them out of any NHL discussion.

I thought the NBA would go to St. Louis before Kansas City.

I've heard Las Vegas is building a NBA arena on the opposite end of the strip from T-Mobile Arena.

The NBA owner should own the arena also to make more profits or at least have first rights. The Scottrade arena in SL would need a major renovation job before an NBA team.

KC doesn’t have as much corporate support there is in SL, but it has the Sprint Center, which is ready right now and is highly thought of.  Don’t think KC could handle four big league teams, like MSP.  It’s either NBA or NHL and more potential owners are lined up for the NBA.

SL doesn’t have the NFL now, so it has more potential demand for tickets and.interest, but it probably needs a new arena.  SL couldn’t get an MLS team due to stadium squabbles, and SL is nearly the most natural soccer city.  KC has MLS, but SL can’t seem to get one. SL city is not very big, as the suburbs are 90% of the population, and that poses a problem for stadium building.  The state of Missouri isn’t going to fork over money like Minnie has done.

Dont think the NBA wants a Las Vegas team as it is too small especially when the Raiders move in.

I saw the MSG is planning on building an arena then you have the All Net Resort and Arena they in the process of being built.

The arena was just named Enterprise Center. I could see St. Louis doing what they did for the Cardinals when they said they were going to move across the Mississippi River to build a new stadium for the Blues.

Wouldn’t appear that Quebec City will get an expansion team, as the Bruins owner says that city is challenged by its small size and lower income.

Meanwhile, Houston appears to be garnering favor, but the prospective Houston owner is trying to bargain down the price in the press.

A Toronto/Southern Ontario location would get the 34th team.

The NHL knows where the money is.

The Hockey Guy has a very good argument on why Quebec City won’t get a NHL team. For the NHL to move or have a team in Canada the US Dollar and Canadian Dollar would have to be closer. He also made the point the NHL would look bad moving a team to Quebec City, just to move them back to the US when the owners can’t afford to have a team there. Quebec City wants a team I just don’t see it happening yet.

Rather curious about NHL domain names being assigned to Portland.  Paul Allen owns Portland’s arena, but the expansion price is too high for what he is willing to pay.  Maybe Arizona or Calgary (wanting a new arena) move.

To even out the Divisions and avoid realignment, the NHL needs to add a team in Houston or Kansas City.  Another option would be to move Arizona to one of those cities to join the Central and add Seattle to the Pacific to replace Arizona.

The NHL owners will most likely stop Arizona and Calgary from moving.

It would be a damn travesty of justice to move the Calgary Flames out of Canada.

The Calgary owners are just threatening to move to blackmail the city of Calgary to build a new arena.  A 19k seat arena, renovated several times for more suite and loge seats, built for the Flames and the Olympics just doesn’t cut it anymore.  Cities are tiring of these kind of threats.  Teams can build their own new arenas on their own dime.

The owner of th Flames still needs to get the majority of the owners in the NHL to vote to allow them to move the team.

The Ottawa Senators might be bought and moved.  The owner is in a lot of debt and wants a new arena downtown.  Quebec City or Southern Ontario could be landing spots.  The offer price was much lower than what Seattle will cost in expansion.
