The Sicatoka Posted April 16, 2015 Author Posted April 16, 2015 And the hits keep on coming for the NDUS today. Now playing at NDSU "The Deleted Emails Redux": http://www.inforum.com/news/3724133-former-university-system-official-claims-she-was-fired-saying-bresciani-intentionally Former university system official claims she was fired for saying Bresciani intentionally deleted emails Former Chief Compliance Officer Kirsten Franzen’s notice of claim, which was filed to the Office of Management and Budget earlier this month, alleges not only that Bresciani’s 40,000 missing emails were deleted intentionally, but that the system failed to properly investigate him. “While Bresciani claimed the deletion was due to an automatic deletion process, technology personnel assured NDUS Senior Staff that there was very little likelihood that this was true based on their skills and experience,” said the notice, which Franzen sent to The Forum. “Technology personnel advised Franzen that it appeared as if the email was intentionally deleted.” The document also alleges that after interim Chancellor Larry Skogen “received a phone call from Bresciani,” he canceled an investigation into the email deletion that General Counsel Claire Ness had arranged with an outside audit firm. In spring 2013, a controversy erupted over 40,000 emails that were deleted from Bresciani’s state email account after an open records request from lawmakers. Later that year, the attorney general released an opinion that said the system had violated open records law, but not whether the deletion was intentional. Franzen alleges that her transparency with the attorney general’s office marked the beginning of retaliation against her by Skogen. Quote
