GeauxSioux Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 I can't believe this is coming from UMD. I would have thought something like this would come from an east coast or California school. University sponsors campaign to undermine 'white privilege' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Do_w2V0-3D0 The University of Minnesota - Duluth (UMD) is now sponsoring an ad-campaign designed to achieve "racial justice" by raising awareness of "white privilege." The project disseminates its message, that "society was setup for us [whites]" and as such is "unfair," through an aggressive campaign of online videos, billboards, and lectures. The ads feature a number of Caucasians confessing their guilt for the supposed "privilege" that comes along with their fair features. Quote
passit_offthegoalie Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 It's always OK to stereotype white people. I can't believe people that think they are open-minded can't see they are doing the exact thing they are campaigning against. It's a real pet peeve of mine. 1 Quote

How do these people not realize they are perpetuating the issue they claim they want eradicated? The only way racism will ever go away is to stop talking about race. What possible end-game could these people have in mind that doesn't end in discrimination of the "white people"? So they would advocate trading discrimination of minorities for discrimination of "white people"? 3 Quote

Great, what do you propose we do about that? More legislation? More laws that will only lead to discrimination against whites? IMO inacting laws/rules like the Rooney rule in the NFL are an insult to black people. 1 Quote

I'm sure all the poor whites in this country love being told how privileged they are by bleeding hearts like you. It's not OK to stereotype any group, was my point. And I guess you disagree with that? 2 Quote

We are all people...that is all that matter. Quote
ScottM Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 On the flip-side, being a college-educated white male makes us a "minority" from a pure numbers perspective. Power, brothers!!! Quote
