Fetch Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 is giving exclusive rights to one company really worth it Molson is OK but would I buy it at Happy Harry's NO Coors Light is OK but same as above I think shifting things around - food too - keeps it interesting & more Fun 1 Quote
fightingsioux4life Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 I suppose having Molson is part of a strategy to get more Canadians to come down for games. That's the only reason I can come up with. Quote
The Sicatoka Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 is giving exclusive rights to one company really worth it Let me read the contract then I'll give an opinion. (The REA folks have read it and gave theirs when they signed it. ) Quote

82SiouxGuy Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 More likely Molson and/or a distributor offered up more money. This^^^^^^. Beverage distributors can give some pretty good incentives to have an exclusive or semi-exclusive location. It could be in the form of lower prices or in the form of a "sponsorship". But I would bet that they are making it worth the effort for the REA. Quote
fightingsioux4life Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 More likely Molson and/or a distributor offered up more money. As long as Molson offers a quality product that the fans will buy, it should work out just fine for everyone. Quote
CMSioux Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Won't those gopher fans hate having to drink a Canadian beer while they complain about us having too many Canadians on our team. 1 Quote
choyt3 Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 The gophers would actually have to stoop to the level of travelling to the REA for that to happen from now on. MolsonCoors is much more than just Molson & Coors. I love some of the choices. http://www.molsoncoors.com/en/Brands.aspx Now if the could somehow get "Spotted Cow" in there... Quote

Goon Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Looks like the Ralph will be adding to current line up of beers. They already sell Coors Light. Quote
Fetch Posted April 24, 2012 Author Posted April 24, 2012 Spotted Cow is one of the best beers I have ever drank Quote
NDSU grad Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Weren't Reggie Morelli and Ralph Engelstad really good friends. That's why I always thought Morelli's had the exclusive contract for the Ralph. They also have the exclusive contract for the state fair. Quote

They also have the exclusive contract for the state fair. They were good friends. And Reg is a big supporter of UND. So I would guess that he gives the REA a pretty good deal. Just like I would guess that they give the State Fair a pretty good deal so they can support the Fair and also be exclusive. It's an easy way to give financial support without really costing a lot of money out of pocket. Quote
