So, thoughts on who this might be?

Assuming someone from the Dub. Guys like Carson Carels, Ryan Lin, Landon DuPont, Daxon Rudolph, Mathis Preston, Liam &/or Markus Ruck, Shaeffer Gordon Carroll are all prime targets

He's committed to Michigan

I was hoping it would be someone that just finished playing at the Hlinka.  So any of those guys.  ;)

Yes

Interesting. I’ve seen Boomer play a lot. Solid player, good size. I wouldn’t pin him as a high high ender…but it’ll be interesting to see how he does in the dub this year.

And whom is this?

2009, White Bear Lake MN, played minor hockey for the Long Island Gulls last year and will be going to the Dub to play for the expansion Penticton Vees in 2025-26.

DeMars had offers from 12 NCAA programs, including Arizona State, Ohio State, Maine and Quinnipiac.

He made a recruiting visit to Arizona State and had planned one to Ohio State, but canceled that after visiting UND.

"I knew I was meant to play at North Dakota ever since I stepped foot in that arena," he said. "I could feel it.

"I loved the campus. The Ralph is something different. In my opinion, it's the best place to play college hockey in the entire country. Stepping into that building blew me away. It's a less-populated campus and it has a tighter feel, which I absolutely loved."

Remember you still need those 3-4 year guys. Sounds like he may be one of those?

Correct. If things go extremely well for him, he's a 2-3 year guy, and everyone will take that if he's an outstanding NCAA player earlier on. But likely a 3-4 year guy, we'll see how he does in junior this year in Penticton.

DeMars just turned 16. We likely won’t see him for 3 years unless he has a breakout year. He could’ve been in next year’s cycle.

The portal transfers, etc We’re kind of seeing the recruiting direction this team is going. Besides the full blown blue chips, they’re taking bigger two way guys that can skate. I have never thought of Boomer as the very best in the 09 MN crop but he’s always in that tier and he’s been on some really good teams. Also a captain at LI speaks to that side of things. Go let him play two years in the Dub and let’s see how things shake out.

Wouldn't be a surprise to see one or two more go W. All things equal, WHL locations > USHL locations (for the most part).

He's been committed for a good minute, around May

Saw a recent tweet from Cam Robinson that he allegedly hasn't had any contact yet with NCAA schools.

Is the Michigan commitment a silent one?
