VMeister Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 I recorded sportcenter to watch the highlights of the ISU-NDSU game since there were so few college games last night. I saw Boise, So Carolina, Western Ill, hell, I even saw Duluth highlights; there were no Cyclone-Bison highlights. I guess you have to choose your Big 12 opponents more carefully. Kind of hoping there aren't UND highlights shown on Saturday night. Probably wouldn't be shown for a good reason. Quote
Oxbow6 Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Watched most of Bison game on webcast w some SU buddies. They looked pretty decent. Mertens is still...Mertens though. People forget ISU, even though they are a bad Big 12 team, is still a Big 12 team. This wasn't Wyoming, Ball St., or CMU...they had some skill and speed. Quote
sIoUxPeRsTiTiOuS Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Wow, reading bisonville.com reaction is hilarious right now.....Mertens cost them the game, season is over, etc. Jeez, relax. ndsu played admirably last night in a tough environment. Everyone is talking about how the game would have been different had Mertens not fumbled on the goalline. They also seem to forget that it would have been a different score had the ISU WR caught the wide open flea-flicker TD pass that he dropped. I understand expectations are high and that they expect to win every game, but I think they are already going overboard over there. They have played one game so far and not one conference game. Lots of season left. Relax. You'll be fine. Quote
UND92,96 Posted September 4, 2009 Author Posted September 4, 2009 It will be very interesting to compare the seasons Mertens and Landry have this year, particularly considering both are local products, and the fact that there was some disappointment expressed on this board when UND didn't sign Mertens. I don't think there's much question that Landry is the more physically gifted of the two, but hopefully he won't have the same problems Mertens has seemed to have in terms of mental mistakes and/or turnovers. Mertens had tons of talent around him last year and played the Bison out of potential playoff spot with his awful play. I like Landry alot based on the limited game time he has had. I think he'll play very well this year. Quote
The Sicatoka Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Did I hear it correctly: NDSU played six true freshmen? Quote
badger1 Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Did I hear it correctly: NDSU played six true freshmen? yeah something like that i think i heard too. I know the one little true freshman RB had a 48 yard run that was down to the 1 inch line. Quote
