star2city Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Sioux are now 12-6 after sweeping the homestanding Texas teams 3-0 and 3-0. In pre-season polls, Houston Baptist was expected to be a stronger team than the Sioux. As it turns out, NJIT may be the strongest, as they beat Utah Valley this weekend. It would be a major accomplishment for the Sioux to get 20 wins, but doable. Next year, wouldn't be surprised to see a UND vs NDSU match. At the Betty, such a match might be packed. If UND keeps performing at a high level, it may be possible to host a 4-team invitational with Big 12 or Pac 10 type teams. Quote
clh741 Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 Looks like the volleyball RPI is finally out http://web1.ncaa.org/app_data/weeklyrpi/2009WVBrpi1.html Anyone know the team's RPI from last year? Quote
bincitysioux Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 The Sioux swept New Jersey Tech at the Betty tonight to take over 1st place. Attendance was a record 891. Congrats ladies... Quote
star2city Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 No surprise that UND beat Chicago State by a combined score of like 75-30. If UND can win the the next couple of home games vs Utah Valley and South Dakota, they'll have a great chance of finishing the season with a 12-0 run. Quote
SiouxMeNow Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 I was at the Betty for the game against NJIT...GREAT CROWD and a very entertaining match! Volleyball is MOVING UP the ranks of spectator sports on the DI level - and that's a good thing for UND. Have to say Coach Hardee is doing a really good job in his 1st season! Quote
Smoggy Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 I'm surprised nobody has posted yet that the women had a big win today against Utah Valley and now is alone in first in the conference. Seemed like a good sized crowd on hand as well. Quote

Seemed like a good sized crowd on hand as well. Yeah, we were there and that was a helluva a game too! 5 games, back and forth throughout. UND is in the driver seat now. They gotta play New Jersey Tech once more on the road, but they handled them pretty easily in the Betty. I think they announced attendance at 575, great atmosphere in there yesterday. If Hardee and company can keep things building, UND could have a nice volleyball program. Quote

Siouxmama Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 I was there too, and I heard 500-something as attendance. Was a good crowd, but I expect to see more in the future, although there is only 1 more home game, on the 14th. Remember, if you are a Club Member (Coaches and above?) you can get free admission to the games. Just bring your membership card to the ticket window. Come on out and show the VB women some support. They are so fun to watch. Quote
star2city Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 Nine straight: Sioux beat NJIT in Newark 25-15, 25-15, 25-17 Sioux seem to be improving as the season goes on, based on previous score and home court advantage. Last home game next Saturday vs USD for ten in a row. Sioux have moved up 40 places in DI RPI. Quote
star2city Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Does volleyball annouce their signings soon? Senior Nikki Husfeldt, Andover Andover's Senior Nikki Husfeldt, a University of North Dakota recruit, has collected 798 set assists this season while libero Erica Turner leads the Huskies with 340 digs. dakotadan Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 All in the family means both UND and NDSU A pretty neat article. Quote
dakotadan Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Congratulations to the ladies on winning the Great West Conference! Now go take the GW tournament! Quote
bincitysioux Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 North Dakota swept USD in the semi-finals of the GWC Tourney today. They will face either Utah Valley or Houston Baptist in the championship tomorrow. They swept Houston Baptist this season, and went 1-1 against UVU this season. Good luck ladies! Quote

dmksioux Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 Great job this year by the coaching staff! With the football and bball teams down a bit this year, it's nice to see another sport making some advances. Hopefully the trend continues...I would also love to see a UND-NDSU matchup in vball sometime soon! Quote
bincitysioux Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 I don't know much of anything about volleyball, but it seems to me that in addition to Minnesota, UND should start trying to recruit Iowa. All 4 of the DI schools in Iowa finished in the top 100 in the RPI, and Northern Iowa and Iowa State made the NCAA tourney. Quote

82SiouxGuy Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Is it just my computer or does the link open a story about that poor damned cat glued to the road by vicious gopher fanatics? It must be your computer. I get a story about Ms. Bitter resigning as volleyball coach in Bemidji to take on another role in the athletic department and her daughter transferring to UND to play volleyball. I got the same story a little while ago when I first read it. Does your computer have something against cats, or maybe gopher fanatics? Quote

It's a problem with the software ForumComm uses. It happens every once in a while on the Forum and Herald websites. It seems to correct itself after a time, so just check back later. You can try clearing your browser's cache, but I don't know if that helps. Quote
