Absolutely right. If we are talking about the future, there is no denying this. Students of today are the stakeholders of tomorrow, and they have more years ahead of them to donate than you or I do. It is very simple math.

You say eliminating NA nicknames pushes NA culture off the map, but you are only speaking of your own personal map. Besides, does it seem to you like the tribes are interested in such publicity? (Hint: We failed to get their support to keep "honoring" them.)

Removal of Native American mascots isn't really about wanting to forget about Native Americans. It's much more about wanting to forget about our own racism towards Native Americans.

I don't know who will buy what but it is easy to believe this part ^. If we lump together those who wish to be Sioux and those who wish to stay North Dakota , that does seem like it would easily be a majority group.

Which is why this conversation about predicted merch sales is useless while we have no idea what they will create. Who here would prepay right now for a NoDak, RR or Hawk jersey before seeing the design?
