Was a really FUN game tonight. Glad to see the boys put a few up on the board. Real good crowd tonight too. Thul isn't the worst ref I've seen (he's actually better than pretty much all the rest of them combined) but there were several incredibly blatent muggings that didn't get called - especially muggings on Duncan, and there was a ton of after the whistle rough stuff instigated by Tech that didn't get called. If this wasn't a playoff game this would have ended up to be another WWF match. The boys showed real good composure to just turn and skate away as they know they will live to skate another day and Tech will not. I also thought at least 2 of Jones' 3 penalties were pretty weak compared to the rest of the stuff that was going on. Oshie played well, but he didn't seem to have the same spring in his step that he normally does and I don't remember any monster hits that he made like he usually does, however, I will take Oshie at 5% over pretty much anybody else at 100%. Also when Oshie and Genoway would skate to the bench after a shift they would have these grimices on their faces - they both looked like they are still hurting pretty good (I sat right behind the bench tonight so could see their faces very well.) Speaking of being able to see their faces very well - there are some real sorry looking stashes going on. I'm really hoping that a few of these guys just started growing them this morning - cause there aint much there.

Nope - no assists - Lammy snags the puck from a week shot going wide (so touched last by a Tech player) and sails it right on down for a goal. ALLLLLLL ALLLOOOONNNE

And Tech pulls their goalie with 17:30 left in the 1st period on a powerplay and Phil clears it the length of the ice and SCORES!!!!! (just another little tidbit for his hobey resume) That puts us up 3-0 or is it 4-0 - can't keep up with all this practice stuff. This practice stuff is COOL

If both UND and CC make it to the final 5 and baring some other major upsets, UND plays the Friday afternoon game. edit: after looking through the different scenarios, with UND and CC both in the final 5, I can't find a way that MN would get a 3 seed so they would automatically play the thurs play in game and if they win they would play CC on friday night, so no MN rule necessary.

Has anyone heard anything definite that UND is going to apply for a redshirt for Forney, or is this speculation? Brad consistantly has him listed as a "healthy scratch" in all his line-ups for the weekend games.

I am surprised that New Hampshire hasn't been getting much love in the polls. They are 5th in the USCHO poll and 4th in the USA Today poll. I know they got beat by Vermont once this weekend, but they have played a pretty tough schedule and beat CC twice and UND once.

Gives me something to do during the week while waiting for the Sioux to play on the weekend.

During the game at some point on Saturday, Hennessey said that Zach Jones had been playing with a hip flexer/pointer (?) since about December.

Along with being a Mavericks fan this weekend, I am also going to be a Bowling Green Falcons fan big time. Not only do I want to see Miami loose big - it would also help UND in the pairwise.

Not positive but I think it goes 1 Minnesota home series in a season 1 UND home series in a season 2 season series so that works out to last year at Minn this year both next year probably UND

A few scenarios out there: CC and UND win and no other upsets - UND plays Fri afternoon CC upset and UND win - UND plays Fri night CC, UND, Gophers and Duluth all win - Gophers would play UND and it should be the afternoon game, but unsure if the Minnesota rule would be reinstated. The good bet would be Fri afternoon tickets.

I have to agree. If you are on the ice when the other team scores at even strength more times than when you are on the ice when your team scores at even strength, at some point you become a liability. Maybe Motzko should only play those guys on the powerplay - maybe St. Clown would have secured home ice earlier if he had.

So how do things shake out when Miami FINALLY plays their 10th TUC game this weekend? Do they flip the UND comparison just by playing the game? I think they have a pretty good record against the few they've played.

I know that there were some guys sick and we've got others with injury (both in and out of the line up), but things didn't look all that great last night. We're really going to have to suck it up and some of the "un-sungs" are going to have to step up and balance some of the offense out down the stretch. We are having a real hard time generating goals. There were lots of chances last night (and on Friday night as well), but we're really having a very hard time finishing these. Some of these chances were unbelievably blatent. We've been teasing the goof fans about how few goals the goof team has been scoring, but since the 2nd game of the Bemidji series we've had the same problem. The difference is our defense and JPL are solid, but we're going to need some goals to keep this run going. I was very impressed with how Martins stepped up and played really well with Kozek and Duncs when TJ went out. He did not look out of place at all on that line and like others have said, he is probably the most improved player on the team right now. He's had a terrific second half. Zajac looked OK on that line when he was with them, but did not inspire near the confidence that Martins did. (Question - Hak said something in the post game last night about only having 3 centermen on the ice after TJ left - any of the guys left - Davidson, Forney - centermen?) I have not been a vocal critic of LaPointe, but I haven't necessarily felt that he has showed anything beyond being a freshman. Not bad - just a freshman with some good potential. I have to say that after this weekend I am very encouraged that he is maybe moving beyond being a freshman. He had a pretty good night on Friday and a very solid night last night. Good time to start coming into your own. We definately have the talent and heart to take the 8th, but we still have some work to do before we get to the dance. I guess it's a good thing to have some of these "blips" show up now instead of during the playoffs while we still have some time to work out the kinks.

Jason Blake with 1 goal and 2 assists tonight against Boston. Boy has Boston left the building - got a 10 spot hung on them the other night by Ovechkin and lost tonight 8-2.

Did this ever get resolved or are we still being patient?
