  1. I wish we had the choice to include all or just the last or just a portion of the quotes because sometimes a reply is regarding a couple of posts together. Not unhappy with this, just putting my very small 2 cents in.
  2. I think he meant for the game against CC today.
  3. There is going to be screaming all across the Northeast and across to the great lakes with Wisco getting in with an under 500 record.
  4. Do you have a link?
  5. According to ESPN-U scoreboard Northern Michigan over Notre Dame 2-1 Cornell over Colgate 4-2 BC leading Vermont 3-0 end of 2nd Princeton leading Harvard 2-9 end of 2nd Mich/Miami tied start of 2nd
  6. Didn't take control of the games down in Minny when the Sioux played there this year.
  7. I remember that game and going OH GAWD!!!!!!! this is going to be a long year. I am so happy that I was totally wrong and that Phil shoved my disbelief in him right back in my face.
  8. Is FSN that desparate that they have to have the rug doing games? (Gorg is almost as bad) I can't believe that in that market they can't find someone better qualified, more intelligent, and a better "personality" to do college hockey games. The rug makes it impossible for me to watch any gopher games with the sound on because I always end up catching myself right before I throw something at the TV. Even when the goofs aren't playing the Sioux, I still can't watch - he is just SOOOOOOOOO irritating. I don't mind homers, but this guy is just stupid.
  9. Well Bruce voiced what we've all been saying for awhile this year - The WCHA was scared Sh!tless the goofs weren't going to make it. http://www.uscho.com/news/college-hockey/i...arch202008.html UM
  10. Oh, how truly FUN it would be to watch a WCHA game reffed by one of those.
  11. Don't forget Schmidt - oh yeah - he's suspended.
  12. Not absolutely positive - but I don't think so. If I remember correctly, Jason, until the latter part of his senior year wasn't exactly a "team first" guy. Really great player, but got benched at least once by Blaiser for "attitude".
  13. Even if he plays stellar, do you really think they would give it to a goaltender over Porter - would love it if they did, but with the history of how few goaltenders have won and the fact that UND had the winner last year, I think it's an uphill climb. That said - GO GRAB 2 SHUTOUTS AND MAKE THEM TAKE IT FROM YOU PHIL!!!
  14. Got a feeing Jonny would have gotten the shorter end of that stick. Ovechkin can be just plain mean when he wants to.
  15. Staff and Smaby on the same ice tonight. Stafford had the better night with 3 assists - actually Smaby should be counted with an assist for Buffalo as well since the puck went off his stick for the 1st Buffalo goal - REALLY bad luck. On a better note for Matt - he had 4 really solid hits.
  16. You know that the officiating has to be bad if both Sioux fans and Woog are complaining about the officiating in the same game.
  17. There look some fun options, but if you want to go that way, it would probably have to be for regionals or the Frozen Four as the only shipping method is 5-7 days.
  18. I think Duncan's stock was much higher than last year and he may have missed some opportunities (but not all by any means) by being unselfish and coming back. While I think that Duncs benifited a lot from Toews, everyone forgets that Toews was injured and out for quite awhile during the first half of the season and TJ was also injured and not "playing up to speed" and Duncan really carried the team on his back until those two got healthy. Also he really flew under the radar and teams weren't keying on him the way they are this year. The 1st line has had a problem finding that 3rd cog and I think both TJ and Duncs have had a hard time getting into a groove with multiple players up on that line.
  19. I realize that we have little chance of flipping the Mich or New Hampshire ratings, but flipping CC and putting us into a #1 and CC into a #2 still leave the danger of being shipped to the springs. I still would love it if both CC and the Sioux could both get #1 seeds to avoid that regional match-up. CC has been so tough at home and I also would love to see both CC and UND advance to the Frozen Four.
  20. During the pre-game on Sunday (or maybe it was post-game - was a long weekend and it's getting tough to keep all the different pre - post comments straight), Tim asked Hak about the move and he talked about Kozek not producing like he wanted him to (which personally I don't agree with - but he makes the lines) and the move was about trying to get Kozek to produce more. I guess Kozek had 5 shots on goal on Sunday night and although none went in he did seem to get more rubber to the net.
  21. I don't know why it has to be a "us vs them" mentality. I love what the students bring to the game. I love their energy, their enthusiam and I love it when they get really rowdy. In fact, one of the reasons I go to the games (besides to watch awesome hockey) is to get rowdy and forget that I am an adult for a few hours. I have been "reminded" many times by the rent-a-cops that it is not appropriate to climb the glass and try to strangle an official. I appreciate Sioux_Yeah_Yeah's frustration - I often feel it as well regarding some of the people that sit in the seats around me. I want everyone in the building up on their feet screaming from the drop of the puck until the final buzzer. The only statement that I took issue with was "I am probably the biggest Sioux fan ever", because that statement is just plain wrong. (by the way, in my opinion, Ralph was the biggest Sioux fan ever)
  22. CC plays two games in one day - boy they ARE good (reminds me of squirt tourneys - playing 2-3 games in one day)
  23. I appreciate your frustration, but to come on here and imply that no one else can even compare to you as a Sioux fan is quite outrageous. I have been going to UND hockey games probably twice as long as you've been alive - I have not only had season tickets for the past 15 years to hockey, but I've also had season tickets to football and men's and women's basketball. I have had these tickets not only while I have lived in Grand Forks, but also when I was living 120 miles away. I am not saying any of this to toot my own horn because there are many fans that are just as dedicated as I am and many more who are even more dedicated, but I was quite insulted by your statements.
  24. I only watched bits and pieces of the goofs/purple cows this weekend and from what I saw the reffing was horrible. (It was also horrible in GF on Sunday, but that rant is for another thread.) I'm not saying that the reffing was lopsided towards the goofers (didn't see enough of the games to say that), just that it was horrible reffing. Everytime I turned it on there were numerous and sometime dangerous penalties being commited. When you have two homer announcers saying that this should be a penalty and that should be a penalty - going both ways - you know that something is definately wrong with the officiating. Those games had the makings of a big fight and had it not been the playoffs, it would have been a huge brawl. The Shepherds (both daddy Shepherd and little Shepherd) were incredibly lucky no one got hurt. It was totaly out of control. Unfortunately I don't think McLeod will do any house cleaning at the end of the season. The WCHA front office is run way too much like "the good ol boys club" for him to do anything. I don't think he feels his job is in jepordy and as such has no incentive to do anything about anything. It doesn't seem that he is accountable to anyone or reports to anyone (maybe someone on here can enlighten me on that) so he really sees no need to do anything - let's not forget that daddy Shepherd is a "close personal friend". The thing I honestly don't understand is why the coaches aren't absolutely throwing fits about the state of officiating. Because McLeod seems to not be responsible to anyone, are they afraid of retaliation if they speak up? Not only are the players in this league being prevented from playing to their full potential, they are being put in danger. Does it take another Robbie Bina incident for them to get up in arms about this. They need to start standing up for their players.
