  1. I'm not feeling so comfortable this period - I hope we can get out of it without any damage.
  2. Did the band go? I thought I heard the school song after the goal.
  3. I really hope the "upsets" (Mich was the only higher seed to win) made the Sioux sit up and take notice. Princeton will by no means be a push over and with the one and done performances by CC and St. Cloud the Sioux should be on notice and come out firing.
  4. http://boardsroom.blogspot.com/ Read down a ways - he answers your question
  5. St. Cloud needs to make this one trick pony jump.
  6. Norton is a twit - reminds me a lot of "the rug". I can't watch either one without getting sick to my stomach.
  7. Anybody got this on TV? Is St. Clown looking as sluggish as last weekend and is Wesloski a deer in the headlights again?
  8. I can't seem to save my picks - is it too late?
  9. I know it's been listed before, but flipping through center ice last night to watch all the Sioux playing made me remember how good this program is and how lucky we have been to be able to watch so many terrific players (and yes, I know that all of them aren't in the line-up everynight) Buffalo - Drew Stafford Calgary - David Hale Carolina - Ryan Bayda Chicago - Jonny Toews Edmonton - Matt Greene Nashville - Brandon Bochenski New Jersey - Zach Parise, Travis Zajac Ottawa - Mike Commodore, Brian Lee Phoenix - Matt Jones St. Louis - Ryan Johnson Tampa Bay - Matt Smaby Toronto - Jason Blake
  10. I'm not absolutely positive, but if I'm remembering correctly everybody goes on the trip and then Hak makes the decision gameday.
  11. You're right - I knew it started with an R, was long and I couldn't spell it.
  12. Brock Trotter wasn't a first liner? Seems to me he was their point leader when he left and also a month after he left. Between Trotter leaving and Raukshani (sp) out with injury, Denver had just as rough a time.
  13. Hak took a swipe at that in the coaches show. http://boardsroom.blogspot.com/ On injuries: The biggest question mark is Derrick LaPoint. The hit from behind that he took gave him post-concussion syndrome. That was from a two-minute penalty.
  14. I really don't know what to think re the DU/Wisco game. - Will Wisco be so "delighted" just to be there they play great - or play average, just glad to have made the dance. - Will Wisco still be pissed about the "no goal" that may have cost them home ice for the first round - or did they get that out of their system with the 7-2 thumping the next night. - Will the "home" fans be a factor and "spur" Bucky on - or are they all watching bouncy ball - And will any of the above be enough to get past Denver. Notice how I think the outcome is all dependent on how Wisco plays and not on how Denver plays - I think Denver's play over the last couple of weeks has gotten them back on track and they will play hard regardless.
  15. I think part of it for me is the "national" press who can't seem to look past a win/loss record or the # of points a player has and actually "look" at the competition being played against. While I think Porter is good (VERY GOOD), I have to wonder what his point total would look like (and the team's record) playing against the likes JPL, Bachman, Manino, Kangas (of late), Weslaski, Stalock, Tesleck, etc. night in and night out. I'm sure he would still be one of the top (if not the top), but I don't think he would be as dominant as he is in the CCHA. I also don't think Michigan would have the record they have getting constantly beat up in the WCHA (and I would bet money that Miami would be middle of the pack).
  16. Nope - it was because Andrew wasn't "producing" on the top line - apparently he hadn't had a shot on goal in 2-3 games.
  17. The guy who got the game winning goal in their last game is a Rhodes Scholar - that means he is REALLY smart
  18. Just to keep this thread off topic , Hak said during one of the pre or post game interviews during the St. Cloud series that he had moved Kozek to the 3rd line cause he wasn't producing the way he thought he should - not getting enough shot on goal and then he went out and got 5 shots on goal that night - nothing to show for it. I trust Hak, however, it seems to me that Kozek's role on that line would be to create space for TJ and Duncs (Miller is not as physical a player and has a hard time doing this) and if he has the opportunity to shoot, go for it, but pure offense from him on that line maybe shouldn't be the goal (pun intended).
  19. I am not a gopher fan, but I would REALLY love it if they beat both BC and Miami. BC is and always has been way too arrogant when it comes to WCHA teams and needs a put-down by a WCHA team and Miami is just irritatingly overrated - again, they need a put-down by a WCHA team.
  20. Don't know if this was posted earlier, but a nice piece on Jonny on NHL.com. http://www.nhl.com/nhl/app/?service=page&a...rticleid=357686 Also a nice little blurb on Ryan Johnson.
  21. So - start calling/emailing Midcontinent right now to pick up ESPNU - I know that they probably wouldn't be able to get it set up by this weekend, but we should let them know this is important to the hockey fans in the area - and there are A LOT of us.
  22. While I'm not thrilled with having 3 WCHA teams in the same bracket, this region isn't looking as bad after a little thought as it first did to me. Princeton doesn't play on olympic ice (don't know if they've had any games on big ice this year) and with the ability of the Sioux to practice on the big sheet during the week it lends a slight advantage. Whoever comes out of the Wisco/Denver game is a known poison so the prep time for this week can be spent first on Princeton and then fixing any errors from earlier in the season and refining the strategies used against Wisco/Denver.
  23. This shouldn't surprise you - this is the same fan base that tried to burn their OWN campus down after they won the NC.
  24. Here' is College Hockey News' Adam Wooden's take http://www.collegehockeynews.com/news/2008...atournament.php Northeast Regional
