Had to laugh. After Travis got into his wrestling match Doc said something to the effect of "I bet Coach Hakstol, Travis' coach from North Dakota didn't know Travis was a fighter" (or something like that). Guess Doc hasn't gotten the word - ALL the Sioux players and their coach are all GOONS!

I think before he started college he bought a whole bunch of stock in the company that made his wooden sticks. He sure broke enough during his career at UND that the dividends must have been awesome.

I was at a game where Greene got a penalty and he was sitting on the bench (had been there for awhile so it wasn't him). The refs were just so used to calling Greene for penalties that his was the automatic number that came up for a Sioux penalty.

I wonder if there was anything beyond playing time that contributed to Bishop leaving early.

I really don't see the NHL caring at all about college hockey and doing anything about mid-season signings. For the most part, they don't seem to believe that college is the best "training ground" for their prospects. There certainly are exceptions, but there are a lot of kids that go play major-juniors that could just as well be going the college route, and from my limited knowledge that seems to be the way the NHL wants it.

If they can they will. They are terrified of an all WCHA Frozen Four again like what happened a few years ago.

Didn't we also play the Russians during their '79 tour before the '80 olympics? I seem to remember playing an olympic team - maybe it was the US. My memory (which has been know to be faulty - though I'll never admit it) tells me that whoever we played, we got beat big time.

I know in years past UND has put together "official" packages for the players they are pushing for Hobey. Any idea if they are doing anything for Phil this year?

Funny moment: During the pregame after Hennessey had finished talking with Eades he said "Now we're going over to see what George is wearing tonight." Laughed so hard I almost fell off my chair.

Martins did have a great weekend. It's nice to see him coming into his own after struggling quite a bit.

We need a series sweep to stay up in the top 4 of the pairwise, which in my opinion is more important than a WCHA title - but I guess I'm willing to take both.

I'm sure it's somewhere but I'm not sure where so I'll just ask here. Does the money from the auctioned jerseys go somewhere special - scholarships or something, or does it go to the Ralph.

TJ read my fan letter pleading with him to score so I could move on past the 2nd round. He made a valiant effort to fufill my request by scoring without even looking at the net.

The Sioux were great last night. Really dominated and shut down the Pioneers from the start. The D came to play last night. The only thing I got frustrated with (and the radio anouncers talked about it too) was that in the 3rd when we had the lead it seemed like Cary told the boys to hold the line and there was very little pressure in the DU end. I understand the strategy, but it was frustrating to watch Duncan et al get the puck in and then back off to the blue line and basically just try to keep Denver from braking out.

Radke was out of the penalty box and down the tunnel - not far though - and came back out to help the 3 or 4 Sioux guys left on the ice with the whole Denver team.

Just watched "the fight" again. What all the camera's seemed to miss was the 4 guys on top of Genoway in the middle of the Denver team, and they were pummeling him good. Radke NEEDED to come in and set someone straight.
