Yesterday was not a good day for me. The Sioux lost, the Gophers won, somebody besides me won the powerball and to top it off, I didn't move on in Sioux Survivor. OK - I got that out of my system. I am extremely frustrated though. There were some extremely poor choices made in the last 30 seconds of regulation. We were on a power play and screwing around with the puck back by our own blue line. Hak talked last week about needing to be "hungrier" after the 2 St. Cloud ties and for the majority of the 3rd period we were playing not to lose rather than playing to win, and to be honest, sitting right between the Tech and Sioux benches, Tech's demeaner was much "hungrier" than the Sioux's. I'm not saying that the Sioux didn't want to win, because of course they did, there just seemed to be too much thinking and not enough playing going on. Do not climb all over me and call me a bad fan for being frustrated and pissed about this loss. The main frustration for me is not THAT we lost, but HOW we lost. That all said, I will be back at the Ralph cheering on the Sioux as loud as I can like I do for every single home game.

If I understand this correctly, UMTC and Wisco can still get into the NCAAs even if they loose tonight depending on how some of the teams behind them do. Harvard won big last night but Notre Dame lost and is danger of loosing again tonight as Ferris State is real hot right now. UMTC and Wisco sit tied for 12, Notre Dame and Harvard are tied for 14 and Ferris State, BU and Vermont are tied for 16 (along with Duluth) Depending on how the stars align, there is a possiblility that both Wisco and UMTC make the tourney. Listen to everyone scream if that happens cause both teams could be under .500 (if they both lose tonight)

You are a fantastic fan and it is awesome that you make the commitment, time and expense to come and support your team. And Oxbow - You say that your comments are a joke and everyone should just "relax". Actually your comments are insulting and say much more about you than about all the others you insult.

Not being allowed to stand is not something exclusive to the new Ralph. I had season ticket when the Sioux played at the old Ralph and I was constantly being SWORE at for standing in that building as well.

This has some fun possiblilities.

While the clapper things sound like a lot of fun, most of them would probably end up on the ice like the glow sticks - we just can't seem to hold on to things while we're cheering so wildly.

My folks sat right behind the net where the Sioux shoot twice (Lammy in goal for the 2nd) and they kind of agreed with the Tech coach's assessment that the shot guy was on crack. Kind of wish they would have credited more shots to Tech since Lammy got the shut out cause it would have pushed Phil's numbers up even more.
