Not going to get there at our current funding level. Without higher salaries and phase 2 Bubba is our best bet until he retires. Rebuilding will not be easy without changes.

It was not up to Chipman to save the program. Anyone else with money could have chipped in to fund it. 60 million is not worth it for me to let my kid play hockey for 4 years. It was not his fault the program was cancelled, that was the fault of UND whether or not the university really deserves the blame. I find it hard to believe there is no hard feelings but I could be wrong. UND cut the sports that made the best sense and minimized impact to the donor base. These cuts strengthened the remaining programs and had to be done.

Never going to compete with the program to the south unless we fund our program to the same level. Thinking we can achieve what NDSU has is not reality, no one will ever repeat their run. We can win a championship but becoming another NDSU dynasty will be unlikely. Replacing Bubba with another below average paid coach isn’t going to bring more success. You get what you pay for……. There is a reason Coach Schmidt left…. $$$$$$$ Holinka could be next to follow the $$$$$$$$

You are insane if you believe that. You don’t become elite by paying bottom to average salaries. If NDSU cut their coaches salaries in half they would still be able to ride the coat tails of their past success but there is no way they would retain their elite coaching. Entz and Roehl are no where near the caliber of coach that program had in the past and are still paid that much……

Unfortunate situation for the university and one of their biggest potential donors. If UND wants to keep up with the school to the south we need to get big donations. Sad that womens hockey could be what sinks future donations, but hopefully the university means more to him than his daughters program being canceled. Let hope he takes the high road unlike the Lammy twins. UND was the last priority when it can to the twins picking the Gophers over UND. They have never put UND first and continue to drag this university through the mud. I don’t care if they have the Roughrider award or if they are Olympic medalists, they are not doing what is right for UND and they need to quit it!

Hard to compare UND to Petrino and Mont St. if it wasn’t for Petrino name Mo St would still be where they are. Montana St was already a storied FCS program. Utah State is still coming off it’s Jordan Love era. UND program was at its lowest point ever and required a complete rebuilding. None if those coaches started with that challenge. who is the right coach to come to UND and that could fix everything wrong Bubba has done and how much is that going to cost????$$$$$$$

Let’s not compare us to the Bison in that situation. We easily could have lost like USD, SIU, Mo St, or even SDSU and some of you would never be happy with those results either! I want to be the top but I understand it’s not that easy to achieve but just firing Bubba!

Not discounting Vigens coaching ability but he wasn’t all that spectacular at WYOMING. I would say also that it is much easier to recruit top talent to MSU than UND especially when compare to their conference foes. Bubba had to build UND up from the rock bottom of the FCS. No excuses on our poor performance but he has elevated our program quit a bit and we could be at the top. Would hiring a Vigen bring our program across the line to finally be a top 5 team every year? Question is could we find one?

Vigen inherited a much better program and roster than Bubba did. Kinda a big difference!

I compare it to the Vikings and the Packers. One team is lucky and was team is not. And I’m a Packer fan!!!!!

He didn’t play bad or spectacular but he got the job done. If you were reading bisonville you would know that fanbased was pissed at the offensive play calling and QB play but they still found a way to win and all those voices got silenced……

We had our bulldozer in against Mo St to put the game away and run out the clock………… and he fumbled, not his fault that we lost but those are the times when winners put games away like winners……

Well they didn’t do much against NDSU even though we almost won that game. We actually scored points against SDSU!

Yeah what’s that? I didn’t have to take worthless English and skipped right to business writing instead!

Our offensive line wasn’t perfect last year but they almost and should have beaten one of the semi finalist teams in the playoffs. These new additions should make us even better!

Sadly yes they can. They can even do this for our walk in’s so they technically won’t be without a scholarship.
