Rudy will be walking a few fine lines in 2017, good problems to have. #1 is touches, with this many guys wanting the ball, and deservedly so, how do you spread the ball and make everyone happy? Hopefully unselfishness and waiting their turn wins out but competitive players want the ball. #2 is how do you balance 'identity' with the experience and talent that allows an OC to call a broader game? Can't get too cute but yet we all want Santiago in space and in the slot at times and JJ working in at FB.
-
Ha ha ha. Norberg is probably a blocker 90% of the time at FB. JJ is probably 50/50 whether he blocks or runs the ball (or on a pass route) at FB. This could be a really good wrinkle.
-
I think so, but more for production than for blocking.

Good addition by the staff. These coaches are like the energizer bunny.
-
True Freshman......pretty impressed with their size.

UNI at #18 after a 5 - 6 season......here we go again. If UNI returns their entire team, so what, they were 5-6. What gives with these guys? WIU is also a team that could be 4-7 and be just out of the top 25.

There was a questionable decision 4 years ago to pull Keaton's shirt and pull him off the practice squad with 4 games to go. I know the counter arguments but if we brought in a similar player today, like Boltman, we now have the luxury of red shirting him. If you didn't follow that, this could be Keaton's Junior year.

2 arrests in 6 weeks, as a criminology major. At NDSU they call that "extra credit", nothing to see here.

A couple of bonafide stud muffins right there, the Great Howedeenie and Donuts.

UND gets an allotment, if you have an inside connection. I have a group of 10 or so going.

Keaton gives us a chance this year, deep playoff run. Guys are going to have to get off the "locked in" thing a little. If a defense is manned up, defender with back to the ball, with no safety a good QB is going to know his best matchup and lock in. The back shoulder throw needs precise timing and ball placement. Why would a QB look this throw off with no threat of a safety? When "locking in" goes wrong is against off man or zone with a safety or two over the top. Did Keaton lock in on Mercer against NAU, yep, and how did that turn out? (that connection won us the game)

SiouxSports does need some representation. Probably a lot of smoke filled rooms and liquor.
-
Could - The Band needs to bar hop on Friday nights at all the good bars, marching thru and playing their songs, reminding folks of the game. I have experienced this on a road game last year, loved it.

Last article is from June 28th, something must be going on.

The "Tree Wiseman" opening drive at Bowling Green from the sideline. Although I like the 3 guys together we might be better mixing in a slot guy.
-
Sorry, he's fine. He will be on the field. Mixed my guys up for a second. Matheson was on my mind, too many Lukes.
-
Strength is an issue for him - I am pulling for these guys, good group. 8 of these guys have started games, some have started a whole lot of games. Stockwell is locked at left tackle, Taylor at right guard, a battle will take place between Aplin, Rooney, Bell for center and left guard. Not sure about right tackle but Cox and Blair have started games there before. I'd say Blair if he could put some weight on. I heard Tobin is a year away, too, from being starting caliber. Someone will have to step up at Right tackle. We have pretty good tight ends and Alm will see the field as a 270 lb TE. If Norberg, Full back, is on his game at the most solid 240 I've seen I think a lot of Big Sky defenses are in for a long day. I think we might surprise Utah a little, not that they haven't competed against more talent, but they probably don't think we will be as close as we are to a Pac-12 team up front.
-
The University let him back in, why not the football team?? I don't think he makes the same mistake twice.
-
He's physically ready, we might need him. That's all.

Pump the brakes, historically 50% of Canadians have changed their minds in the past.......let's hope that rate improves for us!!

I am closer to this list. I think IZZY redshirts and Cam plays right away, and Mikey Griebel works into the line-up (you guys will know why soon enough) 1. Ray Haas - have you seen him lately? 2. Cam Mckinney 3. Noah Larson 4. Hayden Blubaugh 5. Randolph (wild card pick) HM - Griebel - I think he plays this year

It's just dumb and meaningless - The BIG SKY schedule Rankings Let's look out of conference - My vote for the hardest out of conference (OOC) schedule is UNC, the Golden Bears play at Florida (Gators) and at Colorado (Buffs) which mitigate the cupcake of College of Idaho. Close 2nd is Portland State, who plays BYU and Oregon State, then a Big Sky team OOC The OOC cupcake award, no surprise here, Montana Griz. Although they play the Washington Huskies, they manage the cupcake award with 2 sleepers, Valpo and Savannah State. Tied with the Griz is Sac State who plays Idaho, Incarnate Word, then a big sky team OOC. Honorable Mention (tough OOC) - NAU plays Arizona, Western Illinois, and Ill State. - EWU plays Texas Tech and NDSU, then a big sky team OOC
