Sorry, I was late to the Iowa St. discussion party. Mostly discussed. 2 of the best running jokes on this forum are No. Iowa quality losses and Smok'n Joe Protheroe. Both are Legendary. My view on Iowa St.- they tend to play to the level of their competition. After the Drake game Iowa St. lost by 2 in their Bowl game to Wash. St. (Quality bowl loss)

Iowa St. beat Drake to end last year before a Bowl game.....27-24. Only if Drake could have taken them to OT would it have been a major accomplishment. Again, Iowa St. 27- Drake-24. Digest......

The balanced offense of 50% run and 50% pass is dead. Drake wanted to take the run away and a previous coordinator would have obliged and we would have had a 17-7 game. Danny is going to take what the defense is giving. Balance comes from getting your best players the ball in space. I thought Cam looked good. Gordon ran hard, JJ did his thing, and Gee was serviceable. Where was Teddy?? At WR, it looked like the tree Wiseman of Wanzack, Toivenen, and Maag are still the go to guys. Wilde and Boltman were hyped.....but didn't see much from them. TE position still MIA. Still early, need some other guys to step up when their number is called.

Their secondary(NDSU) was going thru the motions and I never saw one Butler receiver get open. Yet Butler wasn't loaded with NFL guys( like they tried talking up the guy from Drake)

Vrs our WRs, we will have to compete for the ball.

2 drops and a WR tripping on his route will do that. But as mentioned, Zim is a Gun Slinger. He does bring energy to the offense.

I watched 3 quarters of Butler. 4 new starters on O line and there QB had 3 career passes. That was a DII team, and an average DII team at best. The SU QB is pretty impressive, hopefully we can confuse and pressure. SU has good weapons but nothing scarey good. SU defense is really good.

QBs can be up and down in a game.....I wouldn't pat myself on the back after playing a Pioneer League team. As noted by 360, we didn't run some stuff yesterday, and Kett was injured so his 2nd half never happened. I too like how Zim plays. He showed it 2 years back at Montana. He is a double edged sword as we will live and die by "The Gun Slinger Zimmer". Where was Rooney at Center, Holm at Corner?? Anyone??

Game Day Committee is dead. It was poorly funded but some good things came from it. Plug was pulled. The new Game Day Committee should be summed up in one word. J-O-B, as in folks need to do their frickin job or get fired. But in a liberal weenie atmosphere like most Universities, no one will be held accountable.

Let's see how the cream of the Pioneer League faired. (A league some Sioux Forum guys have a lot of respect for) Uh oh, not good- Protheroe U 52 - San Diego 34 This was my point the last 2 weeks. Any Pioneer league school should not be within 4 TDs of us, minus the Rudy factor. Now, today's win doesn't get us labeled as a good team, it just means we are not a bad team. Can we hang with SU? I have my doubts, but I recorded the game for film study.

I am not going to play hypothetical player vrs player, totally pointless. Ratelle is one of my all time favorites!! We are a more athletic team now and have what I believe to be is a real college OC. Watch Saturday, you might learn something.
