Plenty of DII schools that jumped had immediate FCS success. Plus the trend of FCS schools jumping to FBS -Appy St., Georgie S., and a few others softened the transition. Not to say that SU didn't exceed expectations at FCS.

NDSU has been very fortunate in style of play, timing, and poor performances by opposing teams in FBS match-ups. Most SU fans know this.(if their psychiatrist could peel the layers back) Since the obvious facts are too buried in SU minds just stating reality is enough for an epic troll.

We've had huge student turnout early season in tailgating (estimated as many as 4,000+) but the Alerus center isn't smart enough to fill the 2,000 student seats. Historically, 2,000 paper tickets are distributed during game week. Of the 2,000, about 100 kids didn't plan on going from the start, another 200 had something else come up or lost tickets, 100 sit in places other than the student section, 100 drink too much to make it into the game. So, the student section starts at 1,500 of 2,000 tickets while 2,000-3,000 tailgaters walk right past the stadium and leave. Then seeing that the student section isn't full the 1,500 students think they are missing out on other things and most leave by halftime. Alerus Center with another huge fail.

I know I wouldn't want to be Oregon. They will have a serious misfortune(s) this season into next and will put their weakest team on the field in decades just to roll over for Juice U in 2020. I know the history has been chronicled, but seriously Juice U catches FBS teams that are either crap, inexperienced, or too stubborn (Iowa) to play to beat a lessor opponent.

We have to become relevant in football for that to happen.

Typically a few food vendors and last year they started with beer sales. The tailgate committee kinda died off so not 100% on this year. A lot of free drinks to be had though in tailgating.

I put Cal Poly as an 80% chance W category. As you pointed out with some loss predictions, we will be underdogs quite a few times early in the season until we prove otherwise. It all boils down to the Fruend Factor as someone else pointed out.......what's the measure (positive impact) of having a successful and efficient offense for the team? It could be huge and with that I am not ruling out 8+ wins and playoffs. We could struggle with injuries again and be 6-5 but if healthy we'll be better than that. All poppycock at this point, can't wait to watch!!

Try to keep up with the big boy logic. Although Cal Poly can be deafening in their home stadium , we have these factors in our corner. 1) Schmitty can stop triple option in his sleep 2) Cal Poly is often undersized with limited depth, they wear down during the season. It is a very hard school to get into. 3) Our guys absolutely love playing out in California, night game. 4) No Protheroe or mini-Protheroes (like mini-Dictas) have been spotted on campus since Joe's epic bust at Niner's minicamp What is your logic again? (It's hard to travel West and play a game?)
