That's the old way of looking at things and assumes the offense is based on complexity, checks at the line, multiple blocking schemes, and a schematic philosophy(must pound the rock), etc. If our QB can count to either 6,7, or 8 (players in the box) we will take the best match-up that play. Kett can count to 8, I believe in him!! I think you're dead wrong and we roll from the start. But the tricky part is not showing too much but still pounding Drake in week #1. In week #2, the tricky part is NDSU is really good, so many of the best offenses struggle with them. Week #3 and on no reason we shouldn't be rolling. #my2cents

Your information sucks, then. It was dirty and I don't think anyone disagreed after watching it multiple times. I could say we owe them a snapped leg but even I can't wish that upon any football player.
-
The Clive George injury hurt a lot, too. Another player that could of survived by knowing his limits and role within the team. Clive could gut a team deep or with any open space......leave the tough yards for the RB's. I think Cam was a freak accident. And of course Conner Wentz had his cheap shot of a lifetime on another safety, 3rd game of the year, Zach Arnell. Thanks Conner!!

Ott made a fairly sharp cut, but not unreasonable. Palmborg simply tried to do something no knee could withstand.....he jumped 3 feet high and 10 feet long and upon landing thought a 90 degree cut was going to work. I put that one on the player.
-
We 'knew' the feeling........even worse that our past style of play wasn't successful.
-
I am floored right now by your comments. Don't give up hope, Hedberg will probably jump on Sioux Sports in the coming weeks and realize we are committing North Dakota kids that should be in his back pocket!!
-
Definitely some truth to that. Everyone remembers the kid in 7th grade that was 6' and 200 lbs killing kids on the football field.......me neither!!
-
So we were wrong, and other schools were right. Coming in with an ACL injury, leaving with the other knee blown, he gave it a roll of the dice, hopefully no regrets for the kid!!
-
These 2020 kids have over 2 years from now before they are expected to contribute. (180lbs. in 2 years is plausible at 5'11") We are following along with the trend of early signings and it's a necessary evil but I'd sure like to watch kids play their SR year in high school before some final judgements are made.

I am expecting bison73 to drink a lot of beer this extended weekend and hypothesize around the bon fire then spit some mad game next week. He seems burnt out on his last post.

Caffeine is a banned substance by the NCAA. A urinary caffeine concentration exceeding 15 micrograms per milliliter (corresponding to ingesting about 500 milligrams, the equivalent of six to eight cups of brewed coffee, two to three hours before competition) results in a positive drug test. 1st off, I believe they test after the game and give a player 1 hour to report. The body for a player is at a high level of activity for 4 hours warm-up and game time plus another hour cool down is going to metabolize caffeine pretty quickly and for the normal Joe caffeine has a half life of 6 hours. 1 cup of coffee has the equivalent caffeine of 2 Mountain Dews.......not a scientist here but guessing with lag time, metabolism, etc., about 20 Mountain Dews will give you a positive test per NCAA. So we have the 20 Mountain Dew Theory floating around by the SU guys, probably as believable at the Ben Newman gets paid for his speeches theory!!
-
Clemson might want to invest a few more resources into their internal testing program......
-
They don't bring in an outside guy to provide caffeine......that's silly!! We just differ, that's fine. I am not trying to call anyone a liar, especially the Robbins, who seem like the biggest victim.
-
Ben Newman certainly isn't going to top programs and saying, "be careful, this will test positive if you follow the instructions" It makes more sense that Newman for the most part has beat the system and extensive internal testing is part of the program to ensure no failed tests. It is more plausible that Newman beat the system rather than he gives great motivational speeches which put teams like Alabama, Clemson, and NDSU on top of their respective levels of play. I am drawing on my own conclusion from what's our there and the inability of NDSU or the Robbins to name the substance (and the levels found). As someone mentioned, if caffeine, just say it and you'd have most people on your side against the NCAA. I highly doubt caffeine. Bottom Line - What substance was/is being used widely among the team provided by a trusted part of the staff, that actually by NDSU's interpretation was not part of the staff because Klieman was paying Newman from his own salary? (I can't verify if true or not but open records must either show Newman or not on the payroll) Why didn't NDSU pay Newman directly?
-
I am drawing my own conclusion based off information available, my past experiences, and sources. The article itself has 2 sets of so called "facts". So which are you picking? (Changes daily for you guys, I know)

From Article 1 - Part of North Dakota State and Alabama's programs, Newman entered this past season working for the two reigning national champions of the FCS and FBS, respectively. The Bison entered the season having won six of the last seven FCS titles, while the Crimson Tide had won five of the last nine at the FBS level. Both made it to their title games again with undefeated records. North Dakota State, with Newman on its sidelines, went on to win its seventh title in eight years. Alabama, however, fell in a lopsided game against Clemson. From Article 2 - Clemson athletic department managers immediately started asking questions in-house after three football players tested positive for the performance-enhancing drug ostarine just before the Cotton Bowl. From Article 3- Recently, Ben joined Clemson Head Football Coach Dabo Swinney to kickoff Jon Gordon’s Power of Positive Summit that included Tony Robbins, Michael Hyatt, Lewis Howes, Tamika Catchings, Andy Andrews and other great speakers from around the world. Ben also serves as the Performance Coach for the record setting 5-straight Division I National Football Champion North Dakota State Bison. Alabama - Ben Newman NDSU - Ben Newman Clemson - Ben Newman (I'm sure Sabin is pissed about this one) It's pretty easy to connect the dots. Has anyone else noticed that Clemson couldn't hang with the big boys then Ben Newman shows up. Sure, you have to put up with his speeches and raw raw bull crap but the guy has the goods, that's for sure. Clemson has gone so far to say it was food tampering by a 3rd party!! At NDSU, one article and barely a follow-up. No one serves up Ben, I guess he's that good.

I don't recall UND bragging up their internal piss test protocol like SU. With budgets so tight, why have an extensive $$ internal testing program? Is it all sports or just football, which could be more telling if it's just football. But we'll never really know with the media in Fargo. You guys cover and hide things so well it makes the Clintons envious!!
-
Is ostarine a steroid? Acts like one without the side effects. I understand why guys take it. My personal belief is this is what SU takes. I am not sure this is in 'Clean Victory' or if Ben Newman even discloses what's in his drink. I believe Newman knew the testing and his dosage passed the drug tests. This is why SU tests on their own, to keep under certain levels. The kid just took too much, got busted.

2020 Football Recruiting - Overall, the recruiting process is becoming more accelerated each year. 13 commits and over 2 months away from watching a snap of their Sr High School football season. Everyone praises the early commits but we need to have some room for the players still progressing. Or, what's the out if an early commit lays an egg or becomes a bad apple? If FBS and FCS fill their classes before the Sr. season DII programs will love it!! Then, we'll see more top talent at the DII level and everyone will be scatching their heads wondering how guys are missed.
-
I hope he is!! I heard he tested well!! I am sure "Sleepy Randy 'Always Late to the Party' Hedberg" will be at his house this weekend with a couple packs of sparklers.
-
I love it!! The start of college football is so epic because week #1, everyone is undefeated. As players and 'extensions' of players (family) this is the expectation, run the table. If the players aren't thinking this, might as well not put the pads on. See you in GF!!
-
I don't recall many 1 and 3 step passes in the past, is this a trick question? You've been non stop mad crushing about a dominate O-line, it's unhealthy to obsess about it.....ha ha!!! All I am saying is you play with the guys you have. Danny can help the O-line out simply by his approach to offense.
-
You have to include catching the ball, especially when a short pass is 'equivalent' to a run play. Drops kill drives. We will have a series of plays that to be honest, the O-line doesn't really need to block that much. It's called getting the ball out quickly. The seven step drop with 4 seconds of perfect pass protection passing scheme has left the building.

Actually, the old timers had some pretty tough Big 10 teams on their schedule. So hardest schedule in history is a stretch but in recent history debatable. 2019 looks to be pretty salty.
