  1. Speaking of a good passing pocket.....why is our QB so shallow and the pocket so small? One missed blocked and Kett only has time for a duck and cover.
  2. We could do that, too. (In 3-5 games)
  3. 14 points in first 6 minutes and 9 seconds, on the road. Just put that into perspective. More or less than 48?
  4. E. Washington will have more or less than 10 points on offense...... How about 38, more or less?
  5. I think Chaves would. It is consistent with his vision, and it's hard to approach donors when you don't put some skin in the game. We had the 2015 bid nailed for a home game and that was with Faison and donors at that time. Does anyone think Chaves will let Faison's bid be bigger than his bid. (yes, a 'bid' measuring contest) I wondered at the time if the committee opened our bid after the bracket was selected, just being curious, and said......hmmmm.......kinda f'd that one up. Maybe that helps this time around, knowing we had a healthy bid in the past. If we don't win, I'll never get this 2 minutes back.........
  6. My understanding - 1st round for unseeded teams Estimated attendance gives a school a baseline to run a sound budget, but a school can bid however much they want and lose $ on the game.(often private donations will come in on top of what the school is willing to pay) So the real answer is just plain "Revenue". That's what the bid is for, how much will your school pay for a home game. A,C,D and E are meaningless, or the committee will say were equal upon consideration. After 1st round, just meet minimum bid and have adequate facilities.
  7. I watched the SU/Jacks game in person. I don't think we hang with either of these teams mainly because their QBs are too good for us to stop. (not to mention better schemes, identities, and SU has some better players on D) If UND pulls a rabbit out of their a_s and makes it into the play-offs and to Fargo in round 2, I am not going to spend $500 on 2 tickets like I did last time we played in the dome.
  8. For sure. App St., Ga Southern, Liberty, Coastal Car. (a few others) and prior to that by a lot of years Marshall and Boise St. have weakened the FCS when they moved to FBS. Are the DII teams replacing and strengthening compared to what's left or leaving?? Hard to say and only because of SU's run. .......and that's what is so frustrating!! I am more critical with the exodus of top teams. (SU plans on waiting it out to see if the P5 split I believe)
  9. Right, in 2 years, 6-5 could get us in!! Especially playing NDSU and SDSU, those losses don't even count.
  10. I don't see a scenario in which we make the playoffs. If we did, MVFC blowhards will tell us we'll have negative yards at half, and they might not be too far off.
  11. And when all the MV teams are ranked too high (not NDSU and SDSU) but all the other teams(especially UNI), of course it's going to look like really tough schedules. (self fulfilling prophecy)
  12. I see they crushed Hermantown, they will be tested in the semifinal.....if they win that one the exposure goes up bigtime.
  13. Only Smokin Joe, and about 200 other college running backs, are capable getting 250 yards on 40 fullback dives.
  14. I should stay at home Saturday.....but both hockey practices I have are in the morning so now I get to torture myself in GF. I sure hope we win the time of possession.
  15. sorry - I stay mad a long time I guess!!
  16. I doubt it- #pound the rock#run3plays#playdefense#punttheball#snoozefest#zeroTEcompletions#neverlearnedhowtorunaproperscreen
  17. feeling like PSU - 41 Hawks - 17

    2018 Season

Now that we are down to a 2 game season.... Which players could see the field and maintain their red shirt? It's a balance between gaining game experience without compromising a W nor taking too much time from a Sr. I am thinking Odem, Seigel, and Otis for sure should get some reps.
  19. That page fell out of the notebook. It's fun watching teams when they have success off a play one week, then the next week a team scouts it......but the offensive coordinator is a step ahead and runs the "next" phase of the playbook using the previous play as a decoy. Rarely have I seen that at UND, like power ball odds type rare.
  20. We need to lose this F'n punt formation!!
  21. If the team is satisfied with Section Runner-up Shirts that's fine. I guess times are just different. As far as 2019 recruiting, you've had a good eye.
  22. I can buy this. Dricksen plays with a ton of confidence, too!! I was impressed with Willmar's offensive line, too. Back to Dricksen......he has a six sense on the field and for being a little thin, always fell forward for more yards, so strong. He will fill out nicely and not worried about his throwing motion. (a good QB coach could tighten that up, so I guess a little worried about that) I was hoping to see more from DL offensively but it seems like their offensive scheme is limited to running up the middle, never tested the outside, passing game is elementary. Play calling was suspect, too!! How Willmar managed 9 in the box was impressive. The counter part to Dricksen is a big kid, too, the DL QB but I am afraid the offense and limited coaching will not do him any favors, he better get to some camps this summer and sell himself, because handing off 45 of 50 plays makes for a short HUDL film!! On the MN concussion protocol, you have to tell kids to sit down for 5 minutes and don't dare say anything about your head or ears ringing!! The DE for Detroit Lakes, the lone guy that could have made a difference, 240 lb DE that is freakishly strong, was held out because he only was 4 days cleared on his concussion test, not 5 days. He complained for 2 seconds that his ears were ringing and his helmet was yanked.......can't do that leading into the section final. Willmar had a rabbit foot up their a_s, too. They converted 3rd and 18 on their 1st drive on a diving catch, recovered both of their fumbles in 1st half and scored all 3 times on those drives. Then DL fumbles the opening kick-off. Between DL and UND, it was a devastating weekend, not sure how long it will take me to recover!! DL had a lot of Jrs this year. If their RB, Isaiah, cuts his 40- time by a 10th or 2, I think he can play FCS, too. Then, as mentioned, the QB has potential, which one would gather when both parents are all american athletes in college and father threw mid 90's in the minor leagues......but I am not overly optimistic he gets exposure in that limited system. Rudy could teach them a toss play to the outside, that would help....... Then more than 2 pass plays during the year, would also be helpful.
