  1. Old Timer problems? :-)
  2. Hope this works. Steve Miller Band, The Joker This is a great thread! And what a mix. Let's keep educating the youngsters too - Mix-tape anyone?
  3. Not a given...DeRouen could be let go, or he could transfer, or just decide to be done. Frankly, I'll take any one of those
  4. ^^^^THIS IS YOUR BRAIN ON DRUGS!!!
  5. I would like to see NDSU game at the Ralph. i dont think UNI is big enough to fill it. But I think you could sell SU as a rivalry game, promote the hell out of it and try to pack the Ralph. It would be nice to see again.
  6. Correct, he didnt have to score on DeLaSalle team. He was the leader though, listen to comments from Austin Coach, and he did score if given the opportunity. He did score in bunches however in AAU season, and that generally allows a player to show their scoring ability more.
  7. There are a lot of things you can do with Thunder. And wouldn't it be fun to be the Thunder and see how NDSU trips all over itself trying to be different than us.
  8. If there were two players to bet on, I would take those two, with Hooker close behind. Those guys come from winning programs and can flat out "ball:" (may not be proper term here, but they can)
  9. I posted following response to another statement,, and will add to it... Hooker ,Crandall, Seales Shields, Shanks, Bernstine, Collins, Tyler, DeRouen, McDermott, and others get to 2nd or 3rd in conference, get a quality road win, and get to semis or finals of Big Sky tourney... Good enough? Then what? Let Jones coach his last year under lame duck contract? or Renew? or get rid of him because (insert excuse), and find a new/better coach that can do more with the talent that years team has? (its possible there would be transfers or drops from new coaching regime) Note: i have no problem saying goodbye if this team doesn't make a run to the championship. But asking where the marker is. ... I think he has good assistants that recruit well and he seals the deal. In my dealings with him he has always been straight forward and to the point, no bs. I believe he has an understanding of the game and knows how he wants to play. He is trying to get his players to play high intensity defense and working off that to get offense. Right now its difficult to see anything cohesive offensively because the guys haven't played with each other a lot. But you see moments. As stated above, he should get next year with his group of players recruited with no issues, conference and division transfer. If you see serious team improvement and better results, then what? lame duck years are tough. If UND isnt in the top 3 spots and not making a championship run, then I think he has to go. Talking to ball players and other coaches, drawing from their input, and what I know. I think he is decent. I dont think he is a very good coach, but I think he should get next year.
  10. Whats improvement? 11. Only if UND had facilities to ban their players from. :-) ***sarcasm for those that think I'm serious***
  12. Only single year tho. If NCAA deactivates Freshmen, it becomes two years until they go to NBA
  13. This has been bantered about a bit now. Football already had two year rule. NCAA wants to "protect it's investment," and do "what's best for the student-athlete." They are trying to play this chip as a part of paying athletes. There is some push back, like talk of going overseas for basketball. I presume there is other options for hockey as well. Athletes also asking for other eligibility requirements. Things are changing, hopefully for the better...

  16. Exactly! Can we get spring game going. Please usher in the warm weather and lets tailgate!
  17. If it were to come to it, I think Gameli would be someone to consider. He has history with many recruits, knows the Twin Cities basketball landscape well, and is very smart when it comes to basketball. He is very well spoken of among players and coaches I know. I also believe there is no chance of getting Smith.
  18. Unless you are UNLV football
  19. Both those guys can jump out of the gym.
  20. See above post... But the NCAA classifies the players as student-athletes. They fight for that belief constantly. So, we are stuck giving athletes scholarship money not intended for them. I agree it is not the spirit of the law, but it's where we are in this fd up world today
  21. I don't. I unfortunately work in an environment where people find money thru different avenues to fund something that it was not intended to. It happens because of an oversight on initial setup. Had the bill writers been specific and denied athletics specifically, then this wouldn't have happened
  22. That section doesn't deny athletic scholarships. And isn't the saying "ask for forgiveness later?" I know NDSU can easily plead stupid and we would believe it, but maybe it just opened new scholarship money for our athletic department.
  23. Brewster = Auriemma? :-)
  24. YES! With emphasis lasting on authoriTAY
  25. Stooping to personal attacks is not the way to go. It's a fan site, and everyone is entitled to their opinion. If you are extremely smart, I don't have to explain the meaning of fan, so let people vent. Although many things have changed in the US, we still have freedom of speech.
