Answer is he had a chance but blew it - don't make him a bad person. I still like Chris. I just know he's not a Division 1 football coach and thats okay. NDSU under Bob Babich was a disaster....embarrasingly tanking in the world of D2 football but lo and behold SU decides to move up and he got "promoted":-) to the NFL so they hired a new coach to take them through the transition and beyond. Bohl lost to UND (again!) and took his lumps but he had the appropriate time to build his vision so when they got past the 5 year bs and into full FCS they were ready to roll! Mussman inherited a solid D2 program ready for the transition and (frankly) didn't know what the hell he got himself into or where he was going so he f*cked up our transition with quick fixes, bad overall schemes and no discipline - and it ended up f*cking him in the end. Now this year we have to start at square 1 to build a real FCS program WITH an FCS ready coach. I'm fine with it but it IS going to take some time..

Of course it was a bit! Listen to the "news guy" laugh in the background - it was totally a tongue in cheek bit. Giveaway was him saying they haven't beaten an FCS opponent in "months and months" Almost as funny is how much it's irritating the BISOnATION:-) They try to act like they're big-time but all the real big time schools think they're a joke. You did it to MSU-Moorhead (or whatever they're called these days) many years ago and they never played them again. I'm SURE you guys can do it - you're SO GREAT I'm sure you're not scared at all even a rebuilding UND team might challenge you in ways you haven't thought of since...oh, the days when UND coaches figured you guys out and embarassed you on the fb field for more than a decade until you ran away from US like little girls and found "excuses" of your own not to play again. HOLY CRAP! The wife and I took a drive on the southend after a delightful dinner at jam-packed Olive Garden (I'll thank Marilyn elsewhere - lets move on) The apartment construction south of 32nd Ave is absolutely ridiculous! DOZENS of giant apartment buildings and large townhome developments and now right across from the Middle School on 47th - a GIGANTIC 3 story 250+ DELUXE Apartment complex that looks like the Pentagon. Remember - they're completing a 600+ unit complex near the Alerus for UND students so who is going to live in all these new apartment/townhome units?

Yes - the apartments are full so the building is throwing off cash right now...the retail space is a work in progress.

Seriously hope UND fans show up for this! Greeney remembered his roots and that's great plus this is STILL a pretty rare event! How many times has the Lombardi Trophy shown up in Fargo? I leave that answer up to the scholars but the Stanley Cup has made more rounds in GF than BisonDan trying make a VALID point in any thread that mentions the bison since this board started and i'm sure he'll be the first ndsu fan to "poo-poo" it but F-YOU! :-) It's a very cool thing for us:-)!

Nice new apartment buildings...hopefully the sleazeball that ran the old pub and liquor store on the site isn't involved:-/ Great location for UND - they just need a businessman with more ethics. Also good to see the downtown development group is getting going hosting a concert downtown this fall. Rumor also is the old Opera House downtown might fulfill it's recent urban-myth destiny and may soon house more than just apartments upstairs. Stay Tuned...

probably not long. Their claim to be the "home team" for local advertisers is on a slippery slope downwards.... --The weather has (since the very early days) been recorded from Fargo. It's pretty funny they have a recent promo that shows the anchors kibitzing on set, including WHEELER:-) That's probably the first and last time John Wheeler ever actually set foot on the WDAZ set - yet they act like he's there everyday - in spirit I guess - ridiculous! --The DAZ weekend newscasts went away a year or two ago in favor of showing WDAY...how long ago? I can't remember but that was the first big step. --NOW the 5pm has gone Fargo....the next step is they cut the DAZ "local" news down to a 2nd block within the DAY simulcast - then it becomes a bureau situation where they have a couple reporters here in case something blows up. WDAZ once put on a very well respected local newscast - both journalistically and visually - for a small TV station in the upper midwest. Sad!

Starting today, WDAZ has lost their local 5pm newscast and carries WDAY news at 5. No warning...a blurb mention at the end of the first block about how this is a new "regional" (meaning fargo focused) newscast. So much for your "HOME TEAM":-0 This was their only arguement against KVLY and KXJB for ALL these years - "WE'RE YOUR HOME TEAM!" Now WDAY is eating their own children in WDAZ....and Sweeney better start looking for a new job.
