  1. lol it's nice to not have to worry about that today!
  2. We need to get Studs out, and Santiago, and some other key players.
  3. How is the crowd today? If we are up 35-0 at half.....if there was lots of students, I wouldn't be able to blame them for leaving at halftime with a huge lead. Although it's senior day.....so should really stay and support the team. Plus who the heck wouldn't want to watch Santiago some more! With this lead though, I wonder if we limit his carries in the second half.
  4. The best he has looked all year in the passing game....great to see!
  5. You know..... I was going to say a little while ago....with this big lead........I was just hoping for no injuries now the rest of the game. Ugh!!
  6. We all new early on in the year we had something special in Santiago....but wow!!
  7. Let's keep the pedal to the metal....no let up....don't give them any hope!!
  8. Giddy up! Go Riders!!
  9. Damn it.....looks like Studs hurt his leg a little on that run, he looks a little gimpy
  10. Keaton as been pretty sharp on his passing today.....nice to see!! If he can keep progressing as a passer our offense will continue to get tougher to defend.
  11. Great start.....until we screwed the pooch and didn't come up with any points on that second drive. Still a good start, but we've often had good starts and not getting points we should early, as come back to bite us later a couple of times.
  12. We need to tie or win the turnover battle and keep UNC's explosive plays to a minimum. If we do that I feel we'll win...... I'm going with UND 31 UNC 24. It sure would be nice to win by 10 or more though and win with some "style" points, anything to make us look better to the playoff selection committee.
  13. I voted Roughriders. It's nice to see that a number of Nodak voters (not all) are going with Roughriders. However I think the student vote will likely be too much to overcome, and this will only be getting my hopes up that Roughriders pull it off, but I hope they do. If not I guess it's Redhawks .vs Fighting Hawks this weekend (even though we won't know until next week what the results are)
  14. I agree they can't really look at injuries for the most part, there are just too many injuries for too many teams. However if they are down to the final 2 teams for one spot, one team had a healthy QB all year and ours was injured and we suffered some losses without him, but finished up the season strong with 3 wins with him back in, they may take that into consideration. Let's just win these last two and hope it all shakes out!
  15. Having two 1,000 yd rushers is a tall task but certainly possible these guys both get 1,000 either next year.....or their Jr. and Sr. years. It's nice knowing we've got these guys for the next three years! Oh and thank you coach Bohl for forcing our hand in moving Santiago to RB! How many yards does Oliveira have so far this year? We should be deep at RB next year, maybe Nevermann takes some carries away from Oliveira next year though making it hard for him to get to 1,000.

Yeah.....that is what I meant, thanks for the clarification. Sorry to cause a scare.....certainly wasn't my intent.

I'm inclined to say....we beat Drake and UC Davis by a combined 10 points. I don't think we should really be "expecting" to beat another team with a winning record by 14 points. Especially a team that just knocked off a top 10 team and almost beat EWU. Don't we always tell the team to not overlook? The way all of the games played out this weekend though, we may not only have to win.....we may need to win these last two weeks with some "style" points to make the playoffs with the log jam of 7-4 teams that may occur at the end of the year. I certainly think we have the capability of beating UNC by 14 at home and hope we do, but we also have the capability of putting the ball on the turf 3 or 4 times and losing this one.

Man other than one of our players breaking their leg in practice during practice in the off week, that went about as bad as it could have for us with the other games.

We certainly are not going to be able to overlook UNC, I think it'll be another 4th quarter game for us next week.

    Bye Week

You have 13 days to prepare for UNC, normally you have 6. When I said as coaches, I meant just that....just the coaches looking at Poly film ahead of time, I didn't mean you are going to be having the team out practicing and preparing for Poly over the next two weeks. But as a coach I'd think you'd want to start watching some tape on Poly now to get a head start on it, so the Sunday after the UNC game you already have a head start on your Poly film work and game plan so you can start working on it with the players as soon as possible after the UNC game. Yes if we don't beat UNC first, Poly doesn't matter. But the same thing applies, if we beat UNC but don't beat Poly, the win against UNC doesn't matter either. UNC showed they can play against EWU so we definitely can't overlook them, we will have our hands full. But I think most of us agree the Poly game will be tougher game especially on the road.
  21. No I haven't, I don't really go on other teams boards. Given their expectations this season I imagine their fans are going pretty crazy right now. And honestly their defense is pretty darn bad, they do have some reason to be concerned and complain about things bigtime. My point is look at both UM and MSU, both long time top tier FCS programs and we have the same record as they do, but yet some people were already questioning Bubba 1.5 half years into things. Another guy saying he thinks UND will only have 53 wins over the next 10 years. Which I will take him up on that bet in a heartbeat. I think we will consistently be a top 15 program contending for conference titles and making Championship runs. We can have hockey, and we can still have a top FCS program and we are already headed in that direction. Honestly it seems fairly strange to me how poor a number of the Big Sky defenses are at times. I realize that they are often going up against high powered offenses, but I think us having a tough defense will be a separator for us in the league (I realize that we've certainly been porous at times this year though -but that will get better as we fill some needs and add depth)
  22. Our kickoff coverage has been average at best in my opinion, seems like teams are often bringing the ball out to the 30 or 40. Maybe we'll do that higher and shorter kick that lands around the 20 or so, but then get tackled at the 30. I'd settle for them not starting past their 30 yard line. We've been fortunate and had 3-4 long returns against us get called back by penalties.

    Bye Week

So as a coach on the bye week, do you take a day or two this week to look at Cal Poly film to get a head start on your defensive game plan for that? You still have a couple days this week and all of next week to prepare for UNC. I'm not totally surprised we aren't in the polls and MSU is, but I am surprised we only got one vote.
  24. That face mask that wasn't called against Montana, I think that had to be the most obvious missed call I've ever seen in my lifetime of watching football. A guy is running full speed (WITH THE BALL) and he gets yanked around 180 degrees......and not a single official saw that??? How does that happen???

    Bye Week

Man if we could have just hung on to win in either the ISU or Weber game, we'd control our own playoff destiny. Two more wins though and we are certainly in the discussion for the playoffs and could get in. It will be nice to be a littlie healthier going into the last two weeks, it will be important for Studs to be healthy enough to be able to run the ball.
