  1. Also I'd think the game will be on www.watchbigsky.com too
  2. I thought the wrestler one was awesome!
  3. Here is what I'd like to see in this game 1. We control the majority of the game and win by comfortable margin 2. No injuries 3. More of the quick WR's starting to see the field to get some experience and hopefully some more big plays. Start to give opposing defensive coordinators more to think about. 4. Place kicker getting a few more opportunities for 40 ish yard field goals and making a couple to increase his confidence. We will need some of those at some point this year to win games.
  4. 37-20 UND Placekicker finds himself and boots 3 FG's. Ok from what I've seen the odds of him making 3 FG's in a game are slim....but I'm going to go with it!

People probably thought about Tony Dungy........who ended up winning a Super Bowl. You don't have to yell and scream etc. at your players to be a good and successful coach.

I agree, although I think that was a case of maybe getting a little conservative with having a lead and defense performing well. I don't think it was a case of him being nice and not wanting to win by a wide margin. But yeah, I sure hope they learned from that one.....you can't let off the gas!

I don't know if this is necessarily the case. I just don't think we've been good enough, consistently good enough anyway to blow many teams out. I recall being ahead of Cal Poly pretty big a couple of years ago. I don't think we let off the gas at halftime. He's not the type that is going to go 4 wide with a 35 point lead in the 4th quarter though, nor do we need to do that. I recall at Sac St. a couple years ago we were up a fair amount, can't remember the exact amount for sure. With about 8 minutes in 4th quarter I was thinking, man we need to get our starters out. Many on the board wanted to keep going for a wider margin victory so it "looked good". Think Reyes ended up getting hurt in 4th quarter and Studs took a big shot. When we are good enough to pull key players and the backups continue to run down their throats, that's when blowouts occur.

    2018 Season

Thanks. Although wish it was 1993 ish again where the football team had a it's own dedicated 30 minute show each week during the season. Looked forward to watching that every Sunday night.

    2018 Season

Anybody have a link to the weekly UND sports show or whatever it is? Is there still such a thing?
  10. Three straight years......damn feel bad for that kid, and their fan base. Losing your starting QB for the their is the last thing you want to have happen....and three years in a row.

    2018 Season

I will honestly be on pins and needles in the 4th quarter the rest of the season any time the game is close and we are punting. We've proven we are not good at it.
  12. 22 & 23, probably pretty good spots. At least gets us in there and sets us up to potentially move up more. But also low enough to hopefully keep the team hungry, not that they should really need that as motivation.

    2018 Season

Not sure if you were being sarcastic or not, but I think that is part of the reason Toivinen plays more. Although at this point I don't care about his run blocking compared to Toivinen, we need more explosive offensive pass plays. Those crossing routes to Izzy have worked well, and obviously he can stretch the field north and south also. Wanzek, Maag, and Izzy would make a nice combo. Izzy needs more playing time in my armchair quarterback opinion.

    2018 Season

2016: Blocked punt against Stony Brook - cost us the game 2016: Richmond game: Running into kicker and also got a punt blocked - I think these were a large part of us losing the game 2018: SHSU - punt blocked. If they get a TD after recovering the ball at the 5 yard line instead of a FG, that would have cost us the game. SHSU likely wins 27-24. This needs to be addressed. Like you said, a good high school team likely doesn't average one punt getting blocked a year like we are currently averaging the past 3 years. And we are only 3 games into this year.
  15. I hear you there! I'm assuming EWU is on our schedule next year, we need a win against them too before we are gone.
  16. Montana is my favorite team to see lose, other than NDSU. But I almost wish they would have won so that when we beat them in our house it looks better for us. Hopefully Weber St. keeps winning, that will be a big game.
  17. I disagree, I think we get in somewhere....even if it's 24 or 25. Although if we don't...we don't. Our next two games are winnable and hope we will be 4-1 going into the Montana game.
  18. After I got home last night, I read through the SHSU fan board game day thread. One of them said this, "they were straight up bigger and meaner than us". Those are the types of comments we like to see from an opposing fan base.....from a good team and program. I saw another couple comments similar to that on their board.
  19. I think the state of our kicker situation probably had something to do with that. Man I hope the kicker gets it figured out, there are games we are going to need some 40 yard FG's.
  20. We will be rooting for you guys, it will only help us. In reading your fanboard you guys seem to be decent and not cocky. Your fanbase also wants to fire all of your coaches etc. after a loss, similar to ours haha...well and probably every fan base. Also like I think I said in another post, you guys get a lot of s**t from other fan bases who's teams haven't done anything. We get a lot of s**t from NDSU, Montana, and EWU so we can relate. Would love to meet you in the playoffs, but would prefer it was at our house next time Good luck!
  21. Yes they sure did! And I think we could all taste it!
  22. Sure they need to improve, but so far they have held their own and probably done better than I anticipated this early in the year. Holding their own against UW and Santiago rushing for 139 yards, and two starters out tonight and we did enough to get the win. Heard somebody mention maybe some new nagging injuries on the OL, that won't help. But if we get all 5 starters going I think they can be pretty decent this year. Some young guys there too, I have hope that we will have the OL we need when we get into the MVFC. Get healthy.....and keep improving as the year goes and I think we'll be ok.
  23. If we s**t this game away, which it looks like it. Please excuse any comments I make over the next two hours.
  24. Is it normal to average one punt block against you a year? Serious wtf!
