  1. At a minimum, the student section should be moved over at least one section.....211, 212, and 213 and do season tickets for 214. But yeah perhaps even moved two sections over like you suggested.
  2. All of this bashing on current students. When I look back at when I was in school and games were at Memorial Stadium....I sure as heck don't think there were more students going to the game then, than there are now. And back then it was an easier walk to Memorial Stadium, and the games were not on tv where people could just sit in their dorm room or wherever and watch the game like there is now. There was no Sack City sign or anything like that back then. It's been a long time since those days, and I don't live in state anymore so haven't been to many home games recently so it's hard for me to totally compare then verses now. But sometimes I think we sound like a bunch of old people ripping on the current students.....and telling them about how we use to walk to school.....up hill both ways....in the winter. Sure I'd like more students to attend, but need more of a consistent winner and it will start happening.
  3. This may be a dumb question, but is something I've thought about. Would you rather us get a top 8 seed, or play in the first round with a home game? Sometimes I almost feel like best case scenario for us might be to get first round home game, and get that first W in the playoffs and take it from there. Obviously a seed and a bye in first round and then winning that home came in the second round would be the best outcome. Long ways to go though, and still possible for us to drop 2 games and not even be in the discussion.
  4. The Weber game will be huge, have to win that one. If we win that one.....and lets say drop the game against NAU, we will be in at 8-3. Would rather win out of course.
  5. Wow....not in 25....seriously can't believe it!! UNI coming in at #25 with wins over Hampton, Indiana State, and USD. They should get another quality loss to SDSU next week and move up a few spots.
  6. I hope that is what happens! Go into Sac St. confident....but not over confident. Play a clean game, execute, and come out with another W.

    2018 Season

Jumped up to #14 in this poll. We NEED to follow up the Montana win with another win, if we don't it will be hard for anybody to take us too seriously. Here is to hoping Kett is on fire next week against his old team. https://herosports.com/fcs/football-top-25-poll-week-8-bzbz

    2018 Season

I remember you saying that too. I didn't really question him here on the board last year, but in my mind....I wasn't sure....but I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt because he got thrown in there when he wasn't ready.
  9. I've always hated that formation too, but it seems like most all teams are doing it now. I don't think our players are less intelligent than other teams out there, so to me that means it's not being coached very well. There must be a stat somewhere on blocked punts, I'm thinking we've had as many blocked in the last 4.5 years as we've had in the previous 10-15 years but maybe it just seems that way.

    2018 Season

I agree, what a difference a year makes. Just really hard to be a true freshman to come in and play corner, when some of these guys may have played offense of other positions in HS. I recall UNDColorado last year saying Bluebaugh would be good, I had a hard time seeing it for sure....even though he was young and raw.... because he was often getting torched and all turned around. He looks good this year. I think Seigal played WR in HS (but not 100% sure), the fact that he was right with the guy is a good sign. He will certainly make strides by next year, nice to see him get in and get some game action this year.

    2018 Season

I might be wrong....but I think McKinney on the sweep has gotten positive yardage every time....he can move. There are a few times I didn't think he'd get much but he still ended up picking up 5 yards.....that speed and shiftiness makes the difference. I don't think he's ever been shut down for no gain on that play yet. I agree, getting him the ball in space would be a good thing.
  12. A couple good fakes?? You shouldn't have to force a couple of fake punts just because you can't do standard punt protection. Do what other teams do.....and figure out how to fricking get the punt away without it getting blocked twice in 6 games.
  13. That long TD pass to Maag was a beauty....right on the money. That came right after that great catch by Toivinen that got brought back by the holding call. I almost thought that could be a turning point when that play got brought back, kind of like when we had the fumble against ISU when we were about to score and went downhill from there. This time though.....Kett hits that beauty to Maag and we go up 21-0 and keep it rolling. Sure is nice to be able to able to hit some deep passes like those to keep defenses more honest.
  14. I'll have to check the replay, but if I recall correctly it wasn't like it was barely blocked or something....the guy was all over him.....just like the one that Sam Houston blocked. That's two so far for the year....and we are halfway in.
  15. I don't know, I said IF. There has to be a reason they are keeping him because his punt protection has been horrible, as well as other issues with the special teams. I think somebody said he may have been the main person that got the stud recruit from MN in the 2019 class......but I don't know.
  16. If he is a good recruiter and they want to keep him, maybe give him some other type of assignment. It sure seems like he doesn't know how to coach punt protection. Is that 5 blocked punts under him now?
  17. Why, because we kicked their butt?? Maybe we are pretty good? Portland State just beat UNC 35-14 and all UNC's points came in the 4th quarter so perhaps Montana's loss to PSU isn't quite as bad as it seemed. They turned the ball over a bunch last week, and this week....hard to win when you have 4-5 TO's. You might be right though....but we will see how Montana finishes the year out.
  18. Yep, as much as I hate to. If they shocked UC Davis next week.....that would certainly help, at least play them close.....since we don't play UC Davis. They also play Montana State who we don't play....might as well have them win to help us out.
  19. Man ISU blew that game, that sucks.
  20. I am very happy! I do wish we would have hung 50 on them though because we had a chance, but yeah that is just being greedy I know. I don't think Montana sucks.....I think we are pretty good and we also benefited from TO's, and we also capitalized on them.....which at times we have not done before. Let's remember Montana did beat UNA so I don't think Montana is complete crap (not that UNA is a great team, but still) . Of course people on the FCS page will of course have to think Montana sucks now because we beat them, we know that many of those other fan bases don't think we are for real so they will chalk this up to Montana sucking.....not us being good. I am pretty concerned about our ability to make FG's though. But yes this was a great day......and a long time coming.....I am very happy! Keep it rolling Fighting Hawks!
  21. Damn ISU just missed a 27 yard FG for the win as time expired.
  22. Many of his extra points....are anything but right down the middle.
  23. Do we recruit a new kicker? I mean we can't go the next three years with a shaky kicker who struggles on extra points and can't be counted on. Not to be mean to the kid but he is the poorest kicker we've had since I started following the team in 1990. He just doesn't seem to have it. Other freshman kickers were pretty good right out of the gate.
