How many games do our top true freshman have left. We haven't burned any have we. Has Skokna played 2...or 3 games? Would be nice to save him for the playoffs. How many have Fort and Cochran played?
-
I agree. They should be pissed off after that loss to Weber and want to take it out on the next opponents. That means play hard every single play and take it to them play after play after play, and don't let up until the clock shows 00.00!

Coaches have to be crazy busy during the year, I wonder how much time they can even dedicate to evaluating teams before voting. How many coaches have an in depth knowledge of the details of Central Connecticut State.

Agree with everything you said. And in particular about Kett, he has played really well lately. He has his deficiencies but he has been playing really well. I saw a Weber fan post on a Weber - UND game thread that he thought the UND QB played an incredible game. I've been as hard on Kostich as anybody, but blaming him for the fumble is crazy. I'd give Boltmann the green light to return that kick 10 out of 10 times, he is a helluva playmaker. That said it was a brutal way to lose a game, especially that game. The odds of fumbling the return and then kicking it forwards 10 yards......I mean i'm not sure if I've ever even seen that happen quite like that ever. Also Weber has a great returner, he was pretty well held in check.

I agree, we missed Turner big time yesterday!
-
Let’s win the next two, and get Bennett and Turner back, get a home playoff game. We really miss Turner out there, of course Bennett but Turner is a big loss.
-
Definitely, how many games has he played in...was that his 3rd? I'd hold him out the next two weeks and keep him for potential playoff game or two. Have we burned any shirts yet with guys playing more than the 4 games?
-
Totally agree, man this was a punch in the chest how this played out at the end of the game....that totally sucked. That said I'm proud of the team, and coaches as well. We were aggressive, had Weber on the ropes....and we should have won. Yes there were some mistakes too by both coaches and players. The way the game started.......man I thought .....here we go again. They showed fight and I thought we were going to pull this out. I'd like to see that PI that took a TD off the board. I was ok with Boltmann fielding the kick at the end, hindsight is such 20 - 20 for this group, which i know is normal and I am guilty of it. Was thinking for a while we'd be sitting here talking about a win, ugh that sucked. However the game gives me mroe confidence in the team. Let's win the next two and then get that first playoff win and take it from there. Hopefully the team takes it out on our next two opponents.

Defense has to come up with a big play somehow

Nice answer! Now keep it up!

Bad News Bears....Bad News Bears....Bad News Bears......I'm so sick of it!!
-
Looked like two 3rd graders trying to defend a 6th grader on a jump ball....ridiculous.
-
Broken record....i'm so sick of this !@#$!
-
The Bad News Bears version has shown up....gonna be a butt kicking.
-
We all talked about....sure tackling....and no drops. 7 minutes into the game....we've had drops and missed tackles. Pick it up boys...somebody make a play....not one...all day long!
-
Wanzek makes some great catches, but he has dropped plenty of easy passes lately in big games. Think he dropped one at EWU. That drop right there was a fricking killer.
-
I feel about the same way as I felt when we played MSU.....with our depleted line...and their big OL...I was afraid that game could get ugly. Hopefully tomorrow I am as pleasantly surprised as I as against MSU. Just have to show up and play fundamentally sound football no matter what, don't crap the bed. Hopefully we can catch a couple of breaks. Need absolutely to go right to pull this one out.

Also I think what comes into play is your preseason ranking. If you start the year higher (meaning rated higher as in top 10-15) in the polls and lose you slip down a little. If you start at 22 or not in the polls, you lose and then you are totally out of it and have to work your way back in and have a higher perceptual mountain to climb. Look at UC Davis and EWU where they started the year and where they are now. If the preseason poll and perception of us had us starting the year at say #6 I bet we would be higher right now than where we are, even with the same actual game results. Preseason polls don’t mean much, but yet they do, and they aren’t going away anytime.

Now that is freaking legendary!

I think so too. And even though we supposedly have nobody in the room supporting us because we aren't in a conference, we weren't in a conference last year and we were one of the last four teams out. Heck I thought if we beat NAU last year we would have barely gotten in, but we looked horrible in that game and horrible the week before that. We looked like a hot mess of garbage at the end of the year last year, I didn't think we deserved the playoffs last year and was shocked we were one of the last 4 out. If we end up 7-4 with competitive game against Weber and comfortable wins the last two weeks I think we should be in. We still have one of the toughest schedules in the country so far. Let's hope Davis and SHSU keep winning, and maybe ISU can surprise somebody else too, would help a little.
-
An upset over Weber would be huge, and the biggest win of Bubba's era. If we lose though, we absolutely need to look like we belong on the same field. If we end up 7-4 and on the bubble they will be nit picking little things, and we all know we have the bad loss to ISU. But if we play Weber tight at the end of the year at their place, they are also going to have to consider that too. Lets' hope some guys are healed up and we are ready to play come Saturday!
-
So what....blame Bubba anyway (sarcarsm)

36-17 Weber with 5 minutes left in 4th. I only started watching mid way through 3rd, I think Sac State's starting QB may have gone out during the game.
-
Weber 29-10.....mid 3rd quarter. This will be an impressive win for Weber if they rip up what seems to be a really good Sac State team at their place. This is exactly what we want to happen. Lots of game left in this one though.
