No doubt. Hell I wish we would have scheduled Mayville State.....at least the team would be getting some additional practice and we'd have something to talk about. You have to admit, NDSU did it right....scheduled one game....so they could have a fall practice and then basically a Live scrimmage game. Our young QB's could have used the practice. Is there a rule from preventing them from practicing? It seems totally unfair that some teams get to practice both in the fall...and the spring, should there be a season in the spring. Are there any rules around practicing? The way it sounds....almost anything goes. What the hell.....we should just practice in the fall even without a game, what are they going to do?

Moving to MVFC is already paying dividends. Let's hope there aren't too many articles on this kid until after Signing Day. “Just going over everything, from the conference that they play in being a big factor, and having a lot of games in the Midwest was important to me,” he said. "They play in a good conference. I like my dorm living area and the facilities.

Exactly, and I had the same thoughts as the other poster about practices. How huge would it be if UND played a game or two this fall, were able to get the 20 practices in (or whatever the number is allowed before your first game), played a game or two with the young freshman QB's. They get to get game experience, then when spring conference season starts up, get another 20 practices before the first game. That would be a huge advantage in this situation for use with the young QB's to get them experience. NDSU is the last team in the country that needs extra practices. They've gotten extra practices every year for about 10 years with all of their deep playoff runs.

And congrats NDSU Administration for holding on to your season a little longer than others to play that game, you helped solidify the notion to your fans that every other football team in the world is scared to play you. Well played.
-
Yep.....on the news tonight they interviewed a Bison player, and that is basically what he said.....something like...."this is the only bad thing about playing for NDSU......nobody wants to play us"....insinuating that everyone out there is afraid to play them.

Nice to see a commit on the defensive side!
-
It looks like they’ve put on some decent weight in the off season, and one more year of experience than last year.

Article says 8 of 11 MVFC teams bought masks like this. Did we? https://www.inforum.com/sports/football/6596653-Bison-add-cloth-facemasks-to-football-helmet?fbclid=IwAR3gbaE1oKLqgZarFlVL8KgASXKOJZZgzc9iYRqTdyWmTgpUPJQjkbby5fk

With that RB transfer, and if Weah is eligible....I think we are looking pretty good at RB this year. Will be fun to see who ends up getting the most carries. WR is wide open for some guys to step up. That is one fun aspect of college FB over the NFL, each year there is always a little anxiousness wondering and waiting to see how the new guys will step up. I sure hope we have a season so we can watch in unfold!
-
Great to see the OL got their size back! The Pandemic 15 may have help some of the other players too, a handful of guys put on 20+ lbs since last season...which some of the younger guys really needed it, great to see! Devore up 26 lbs too, he was already quite productive....should only be better this year. Great move moving him to DE.
-
Just to strike up some conversation, outside of QB, what position would you say we are the most vulnerable at....when thinking about talent, experience, and depth?
-
Defense only has 1 commit so far Not sure if it's partly due to having new DC, or to the weird recruiting situation with no camps etc..
-
I say find a way to keep it in the fall if they can. A big Hell No to that idea of making FCS permanent in the spring.
-
Overall I think that looks pretty nice! I slightly prefer the non alternating shades of green, and also maybe regular font for the yard line numbers. The new ones do seem to be the same font as the helmet. I like the color scheme in the end zone and in general. Sioux701 you were damn close!!
-
So if nobody else holds until the spring, I guess they just play themselves......no post season....and call it a season.
-
Having freshman QB’s, sure would have been nice to have gotten them some action in non conference games before the conference schedule started.
-
That's a bold statement Cotton, but I like it.
-
I would also say Boltmann. He could really turn out to be a stud at WR as a full time starter at WR. Hopefully the other QB's are playing really well, and we don't need to use him in the Brockstar, or at least not very often...and he can concentrate on WR. The kid is fun to watch with the ball in his hands.
-
Based off this and the receiving yards out there to be had in 2020, Buy or Sell....does another WR other than Maag get over 500 yards this year, and whom is your guess it would be? I'd say either Boltmann or Cochran have a chance.
-
Yep I'll definitely buy that. I'll go with 800 yards and 8 TD's.
-
I’m sorry I can’t blame the kid too much for getting what seemed to be a good last minute offer and taking that instead of running a Rudy ball offense. Run, run, then throw on 3rd and 7. Thankfully we have an actual DI offensive coordinator now.
-
Certainly less than impressive stats. But he doesn't take up a scholarship and really should have 4 QB's on the roster so that one can run the scout team. Hopefully he is able to contribute to the team.
-
I'd say attendance would definitely be up this year with us being in the MVFC and more season tickets available in good spots. However with the Covid situation....I'd say almost for sure will be lower than last year.....possibly significantly lower. I guess we'll see what the world is like come September.
-
I'll buy that. Given true freshman can now play four games, I think Neal will get in there at some point......hopefully not out of necessity due to injury, more just to get him some live reps in a mop up duty scenario. This is assuming he ends up being QB #3. It will be the first time in many years we had a true battle at QB spot. Ever since Studs was a sophomore....we pretty much new each year who would be the starter going into the year.
-
The situation is less than ideal this year, very bad planning. Thankfully we can already see a change and priority in the QB recruiting now that Danny is in and Rudy out, thank god. I think since Schuster had a year in the system and actually saw some action, if he ends up being the starter.....I don't think Danny will hold him back, which is why I think he will likely get the nod. It's too bad we didn't get a full spring practice this year......really could have used that with all of the QB's being young.
