  1. Thanks for the info. What's the tailgating scene up there and where should we go? I will be driving up from PHX area and plan on getting there a couple hours before the game, will bring a small cooler and look for some other folks in green to try and have some beers with before the game. Feel bad for Cookus he sure has had bad luck with injuries.
  2. That's awesome you took the time out of your day to compile that. Perhaps you wanted to put it together to send to the selection committee. Have you checked the win/loss totals of SDSU's opponents yet.....you know....since they are your real rivals.
  3. I was wondering that too. I will likely just buy mine on Saturday. Will definitely want to sit with other UND people.
  4. I agree that there is a lot of revisionist history as to how good we were on offense back in the day. Case in point when I watched the UC Davis Semi Final game two years ago, think I watched it either right before or after our Richmond game. I remember posting about it....that something like the first 5 plays were runs, 7 of first 8 were runs, and like 9 of 11 on that first drive were runs. Most of those were runs up the middle. Sure we did have the famous bubble WR screen that people are calling for, but the offensive play calling wasn't really anymore aggressive than it is now. Watching that game made me give Rudy the benefit of the doubt back then even though at times I was frustrated with him. That said, the NCC was probably more like the MVFC where as the Big Sky is wide open and not known for defense. I think to really compare you'd have to look at overall for the regular season games, did we on average score more or less points than the opponent was on average giving up? That would be a stat I'd like to see. I'd bet that in 2001 we probably score at, or more than what our opponents defenses were giving up. This year we scored 10 points on offense against Portland State, in a must win game at home and it seems like we are not scoring on average what our opponents are giving up, but I could be wrong. I think it is good to remind people though that some of those offenses in the good old days, were maybe not quite as explosive as we remember them being. I also agree that if not for that fumble in against Idaho State and/or punt block against Idaho, we win those games and while we are frustrated with the offense at times we aren't calling for Rudy's head because we are possibly a top 8 seed if we ended up 9-2. I think I've seen enough now though to believe that we won't be a deep playoff team with Rudy as the coordinator. I'd be on board with keeping Bubba but replacing Kostich and Rudy.
  5. At least 5 of these came in the first game and 4 in the first half of that game. So roughly 1/3rd of those came in a game we should win easily and not struggle to move the ball. When we are struggling to move the ball against good teams, WR's are injured, seems like trying to hit a TE would be a good thing.
  6. Cool sounds like a few of you will be going. I'm planning on getting up there around 12:30 to have a few beers in the tailgating area before the game. Not sure what the tailgating situation is up there.
  7. It's possible.....except for the rare game where Rudy dials up a good game plan, which is few and far between and he can really only do that when we are getting 6-7 yards at a crack when running the ball. Usually you like to look at how your team has improved as the year has gone on. I feel like we are playing this season in reverse so far. I will be hoping for an offensive miracle on Saturday, and another one should we be fortunate enough to make the playoffs. I kind of wish we knew if we were going to make the playoffs with a win. If we win and don't get in anyway, I'd probably prefer another inept performance by the offense on Saturday just to force the issue with the offensive coordinator.
  8. I agree, I don't think he will be let go either.....just made me think about the down side of the early signing day. I'd really like to make the playoffs, but if we make the playoffs I would say there won't be any type of ultimatum about the staff and Rudy will stay, and Bubba will still even have a hard time replacing Kostich……. even though it's obvious it needs to happen.
  9. If Bubba was let go, the early signing date will turn out to be a bad thing for us this year.....we won't have a coach the weeks leading up to it.
  10. Also NAU and Idaho were thought to likely be tough games going into this year. Starting the season I thought 7-4 would make the playoffs, but then our schedule ended up being softer than anticipated. Like the original post said, 7-4 this year doesn't feel good and the season feels like a disappointment. There is still a possibility we make the playoffs, and heck even win a game. But after giving plenty of benefits of the doubt, I no longer feel we have the coaching staff to be more than a 1 playoff win team (Rudy and Kostich) no matter what happens the rest of the way.
  11. Anybody from here going to be at the game?
  12. What board are you reading? I'm thinking 95% of us are not blaming things on injuries this year, and 95% of us think Rudy needs to go, Kostich needs to be removed from special teams. Coaching has been by far the main reason for our underperformance this year.
  13. If he witnessed this game in person, god I would hope so!
  14. 10 offensive points against PSU. Honestly I have no words.
  15. It's a win....buy man for guys like Brady and Santiago to feel good about this offensive output.
  16. Does Rudy get OC of the week in the Big Sky?
  17. We just snapped the ball with 16 seconds on play clock.....stupid.
  18. Yep, I think I am done if Rudy is the OC next season.
  19. I agree, they need to figure out that scrambling QB.
  20. But yet still a few minutes ago were blaming defense for this pathetic game. Sure we gave up some plays...but fact is I'd take any game the other team only has 10 points at end of 3rd quarter.
  21. Maybe replace the Help Bubba thread......with a ….Buyout Bubba contract thread.
  22. with all of the sacks, not sure we even had positive yardage in 3rd quarter.
  23. Yeah lets blame this game on the defense...who has given up 10 points so far.
  24. This is so fricking pathetic. I'm sure our new QB recruit is watching thinking...…..boy I can't wait to be a part of this!!
