The point I was trying to make was that I don't think Sam Houston was all that great. I think Idaho State would give them all they want. I've come to realize that I have been thinking we are better than we actually are. There are only a few teams who are as good as I hope we would be. We all know who they are and it sucks ass. I agree with you, I will always support this University but It sure is painful at times.

The problem with this, is that Idaho State is not a poor team, they are a average team just like us. We are not head and shoulders above these kinds of teams. We are Idaho State, Sac State, Indiana State and it's frustrating as hell

I got real tired of that toss play on Saturday also but in fairness the bomb to Izzy was a fake toss play action....

I think the reason we haven't seen much of Izzy or McKinney is because they haven't caught the ball very well (we don't see practice). Izzy has been getting some looks this year and has caught the ball well in my opinion. There is a lot that goes into being a good receiver (speed, route running, blocking) but the most important is catching the ball. In my opinion Toivonen doesn't catch the ball all that well, especially the tough ones in traffic. We need more speed on the field and Izzy brings that. I think his roll will expand as the season goes on.

Spot on! They are constantly playing with their back to the QB and rarely turn around to see the ball. Change it up a little, give them a chance to see the play.

QB is better than we've had in a while. D-line and linebackers look like D1 players. DB's are in way over their heads. They are going to get torched the next couple weeks.

There is sure a boat load of optimism for this season and this game especially. Remember, we were not very good at anything last year. I don't know anything about this Mississippi Valley team but I do know that if we aren't significantly better than we were a year ago, we won't beat anybody by 50 points. I'll take the under.

I think both Wanzek and Toivonen are set for big years. They are bigger, older and hopefully a better arm at QB.

I agree the O-Line needs to be much better. It has been the most disappointing position group during the Bubba era. There should be 5 year sr's. and 4 year jr's on this roster and there isn't many. Lots of misses in the first two recruiting classes. That said, I checked SU's roster, they have 4 OL's over 300 and they avg 301lbs. We have 7 over 300 and avg 315. I don't think weight is the problem. If this group is not better this year, the hot seat will be real..

What does this mean? When I look at the roster I see 7 over 300lbs. By pathetic do you mean they are too light? or too heavy?
