The point I was trying to make was that I don't think Sam Houston was all that great. I think Idaho State would give them all they want. I've come to realize that I have been thinking we are better than we actually are. There are only a few teams who are as good as I hope we would be. We all know who they are and it sucks ass. I agree with you, I will always support this University but It sure is painful at times.

The problem with this, is that Idaho State is not a poor team, they are a average team just like us. We are not head and shoulders above these kinds of teams. We are Idaho State, Sac State, Indiana State and it's frustrating as hell

I got real tired of that toss play on Saturday also but in fairness the bomb to Izzy was a fake toss play action....

I think the reason we haven't seen much of Izzy or McKinney is because they haven't caught the ball very well (we don't see practice). Izzy has been getting some looks this year and has caught the ball well in my opinion. There is a lot that goes into being a good receiver (speed, route running, blocking) but the most important is catching the ball. In my opinion Toivonen doesn't catch the ball all that well, especially the tough ones in traffic. We need more speed on the field and Izzy brings that. I think his roll will expand as the season goes on.

Spot on! They are constantly playing with their back to the QB and rarely turn around to see the ball. Change it up a little, give them a chance to see the play.

QB is better than we've had in a while. D-line and linebackers look like D1 players. DB's are in way over their heads. They are going to get torched the next couple weeks.

There is sure a boat load of optimism for this season and this game especially. Remember, we were not very good at anything last year. I don't know anything about this Mississippi Valley team but I do know that if we aren't significantly better than we were a year ago, we won't beat anybody by 50 points. I'll take the under.

I think both Wanzek and Toivonen are set for big years. They are bigger, older and hopefully a better arm at QB.

I agree the O-Line needs to be much better. It has been the most disappointing position group during the Bubba era. There should be 5 year sr's. and 4 year jr's on this roster and there isn't many. Lots of misses in the first two recruiting classes. That said, I checked SU's roster, they have 4 OL's over 300 and they avg 301lbs. We have 7 over 300 and avg 315. I don't think weight is the problem. If this group is not better this year, the hot seat will be real..

What does this mean? When I look at the roster I see 7 over 300lbs. By pathetic do you mean they are too light? or too heavy?

The one thing I've learned in my life is that if you have an opinion, hearing facts that run counter to that opinion rarely change your opinion. Facts won't matter to people who feel they got the shaft. The minority is venting right now but the vast majority fall into two groups. 1. People who understand why it was cut 2. People who are saying "UND had women's hockey?" 2.

LOL, self importance and cheapness, they come by it naturally.. By the way, could you please make a donation, they would like the whole family to be able to see them in the Olympics. Give it time, their 15 minutes will be up. They will go away...But they will conveniently forget their wallet and somebody else will have to pay for the cab.

There is nothing "Big Time" about women's hockey.

This has always been my favorite argument! Olympians? LOL. US women's hockey team went 2-2 against high school boys teams. That's some world class athletes. "Hey ND legislators, what a bunch of dicks you are to not subsidize a sport that loses 1.5 million dollars every year so that tens of people can watch the awe inspiring athletic talent of Olympians from Finland!"

This is by far the best decision made at UND in the last 20 years! Somebody made a decision based on numbers and facts instead of feelings. I asked a lot of people today what they thought should be cut at UND and they all said Women's Hockey. It was painfully obvious to anyone with objectivity that this needed to be done.

I'd look for Neverman to move from RB to ILB. If he wants a chance to play it's probably the best option.
