Will Zach play tonight against the Blackhawks? I can't imagine he will, but there've been many athletes who went out and did just that.

The way the Ralph has moved this year, you'll soon be limited to a hard cider or, maybe, coors light... Did I understand right that the public lounge now has 3 hard apple ciders on tap? I know they took out the only tap for beer that goes in darker than it comes out...

May JP rest in peace and my Zach, Jordan, and the rest of the family find comfort in knowing that at least his pain is over.

I have to wonder if this has a lot to do with the coach. Marks is a legend of a player, but I don't see him getting the most from these kids, and he flat dumps on some of them. Jonny B. was in his doghouse, and didn't blow up until he moved on. Honestly, I think a coach/GM change is in order for the Force, and I believe it will help the kids development. Just my opinion, of course, and I'm not on the ice with them.

Guessing it's the ones from the Carving Station like stand over by the Leinie Lodge. Always my favorite, and one of the better values at the Ralph, IMHO. I haven't eaten it this year, but I think it was only $12 last year for a big slice of prime rib on a bread of your choice with chips, potato salad, and a pickle. Hard to get that in a restaurant for $12.

I had to listen to the first period on the radio before getting home to watch 2 and 3. Radio was talking about Tkachuk, saying he was trying to accelerate high school to be college eligible for next year and had to de-commit from Notre Dame, as they wouldn't accept him early. Gave me the impression he'd need someone who would work with his early entry, or else MJ could come into play. Anyone else heard anything along those lines?

Cakebread is off this year. Last season, he was a puck handler with decent hands. This year, all he does is hit. I suspect that he's been told to be more physical and isn't balancing it. It's been tough to watch his game change.

Had the ushers at the Final Five, a few years ago, tell us, "You Sioux fans are so well behaved - always just wait for the whistles instead of trying to push in and whining about waiting." Our response, "We've been well trained at the Ralph." Guess we just sit in a more disciplined section than you used to? Now that I said that, what are the chances on Friday that I won't have new people to my right, and that they won't head out 12 times during the game?

As much as I dislike the Pairwise, I don't have a better solution. People on here advocating for KRACH, but that'll never be perfect, either. Regardless of what system is used, someone is going to get left out who believed they should have been in, leaving the school, and their fans, to complain about that system.

^^ This is really the only issue I have with the game, outside of the poor viewing in the baseball stadiums. Otherwise, I think it's fun for fans in attendance and for the players, plus it's something different. Then again, I really enjoyed the skills competition as part of the all star weekend.

I'll admit it - I enjoy the Winter Classic. One year, I'll attend one. Getting 40 to 80 thousand people together for a hockey game? Sounds like a good time to me! I think they need to stop using the baseball stadiums though - football stadiums offer a much better view from the stands than being way out in the outfield.

My guess as well. That, or just left in a parking lot somewhere like a hospital where there are always cars, and no one paying attention to the vehicles sitting there.

That was odd - I was watching and wondering what might be going on. I'll give you that they did play better on Saturday, but I never felt like LSSU was really a threat during the game. A big change was that we actually won face-offs in the first half of the game on Saturday. It seemed like we lost most of the early ones on Friday, which lead directly to their scoring chances. Simonson did a great job in that respect, especially considering how outsized/outmuscled he appeared to be at time, only to win the puck cleanly.

4-2 Sioux. It's going to get too close for my comfort at the end, before Drake hits the empty netter.
